Fast and works great with Mac!
on 11 March 2013
I was using a Sandisk mini usb stick to copy 3d movies from my Macbook to play on a 3d tv which takes a usb stick and it was super slow, taking about 10 minutes to copy a single 2gb movie file. okay, i knew i did not have the fastest or best sandisk as it was one of the 'mini' ones, but i was worried it was because the macbook did not support usb 3.0 and thats why it was slow.
however, after reading the reviews of this device i tried it out, and it is awesome! super fast! i just got it, copied a 2gb movie file in about 15 seconds ...
so if anyone was wondering, it is fast on a macbook even with usb2.0.
very happy with it.
also note : the size is quite a bit larger than a typical memory stick so do mind you have the physical space to plug such a thing in. its about 5-6cm protruding when plugged in and about 3cm wide and 1cm high so dont expect to plug anything in the neighboring usb port while you'v got this in. for me the size was irrelevant as i only want something to throw into the tv for sharing large movie files.
note2: i did install mac ntfs support (opensource stuff, just google it), so that i could reformat it as NTFS as this was the only way i could get greater than 4gb file support for this tv, as my tv does not recognize the new standard exFAT but that is not a limitation of this memory stick thats just a quirk of my TV, so just a tip for anyone else in the same boat.
My TV is a Toshiba 47" smart 3d led : 47VL963
5 stars! could not have wished for more! exactly as described.
