I purchased this from 'Coffea Online' and noticed it was different than the one that came with my Gaggia coffee maker. When I wrote to them they admitted they aren't Gaggia but that they are "made by the same manufacturer". I don't know about that but it is much lighter than my original and wouldn't stay in properly so kept getting stuck in the machine when I twisted the handle or alternatively popping out. Coffea tried to say it was faulty but, whether it is made by the same manufacturer or not, it is not the same and it just isn't up to Gaggia quality in my opinion (which undoubtedly is why they don't dare sell these on their own website!). My advice is to steer clear of this falsely advertised product, pay the extra and get the real thing.

This is a ridged filter and for this reason will not sit correctly in the gaggia classic portafilter. Pops up after tamping won't sit correct around shower plate. Not at all what I needed but at the time of purchase I wasn't knowledgable in making espresso. Buy a VST filter none ridged.

Fits ok into Portafilter but does not provide suitable clearance to actually close the portafilter around the group head, so it cannot be locked into place with the standard twist.

Upon removing the portafilter, this basket gets stuck against the grouphead when the portafilter is removed, so it has to be forced off with a knife or similar.

It's in the bin, waste of time and money, going to acquire a genuine one from somewhere instead.

This wouldn't fit my Gaggia classic portafilter. To be precise it wouldn't click in place and stay there. Very annoying, it had to go back!

Purchased this for my Gaggia Classic espresso machine which I purchased second hand and the double filter was missing. This item is much cheaper than the genuine Gaggia model and there so seem to be quite a lot of negative reviews about it not fitting properly into the portafilter or getting stuck to the group head,

Not sure if there is some kind of sample variation here, but mine fitted perfectly. The ridge on the filter that people have said that causes it not to fit properly in the portafilter lines up perfectly with the retaining clip in my portafilter and provides a very snug fit, and it does not get stack to the group head.

Although I do not have the original Gaggia item for comparison, this item does the job exactly as I would have expected the original one to do. Extraction time and flow seem about right, still need to do some tweaking with the grind size and dose as I haven't used the double filter before.

This basket works in my Gaggia Classic but I'm not so sure it was made by Gaggia. The metal is a bit lighter and not as shiny as that of the actual baskets that came with the machine. The basket fits in to the portafilter well but when you try to put the portafilter with the basket into the machine, it takes a lot more presser to twist it in than with the ones delivered with the machine.
Once in the machine, the basket seems to work fine. I'm glad I ordered it but still a bit disappointed I can't find an original from Gaggia anywhere.

This is a much better filter than the "creme perfetta" thing that comes with the machine (which like others has helped to redecorate my kitchen in a nice shade of espresso).

The only issue I have with it is that when it heats up the metal seems to expand or warp, and it pops out of the holder. I can usually press it down to hold it in place long enough to twist it into place, but it sometimes pops coffee grounds out unexpectedly. Not an awful problem but not ideal!

I have found that using the OEM pressurised cup with my gaggia classic, the Lavazza Qualita Rosso was too fine, and the pressure would build up too high inside of the portafilter. Using this cup eliminated that problem.

Not sure what other people have said, but this is a much better fit than the OEM filter cup, the only issue really is that it is such a good fit, it makes it hard to remove... but how often do you really need to do that?

Had no problems using the pressurised filter with pre-ground coffee.

When I brought some beans and a grinder the machine started spitting coffee everywhere and giving a large head of foam.

Did some internet searching and ended up buying this, coffee no longer spraying up the wall and tastes great.

Doesn't have official Gaggia stamp anywhere and isn't as shiny as pressurised filter but does the job at a great price.

Bought as a replacement for the supplied pressurised basket. It works ok but not a perfect fit, as other reviewers have noted. Mine has popped out a few times but it is tolerable when considering the price paid.

A bit extra - noted that Gaggia baskets are flat sided, this one has a small ridge rolled into it which causes the poor fit. Less than two minutes with a fine file to take this off and now a pretty damn good fit.
