I have spent years around the New Age factory of people doing all these types of activites. Personally, I love Yoga and Pilates and have an affinity for the other subjects in the book. Like all Dummies books it gives you straightforward, slightly tongue in cheek, advice and a method of navigating the complex subject of "Alternative" fitness systems. They use the trident of early classical, modern classical and new kids on the block to describe the difference between Yoga, Pilates and Gyrotonics which was clear and very simple. I have since brought a couple of Dummies for Pilates because their way of highlighting jargon, points to remember etc with their little icons is genius - they even use them on their Pilates DVD. It is a good book, made me laugh throughout and cleared up a bit of haze in my mind about the different categories of fitness systems available in the New Age movement.
