5.0 out of 5 stars a close shave
This item is great for the money.
Its a substantial rotary shaver, tilting heads to get into all the contours of yer craggy face...lol
This comes with a stand, and a bottle of cleaning solution, which you fill the little reservoir in the stand with.
The shaver, I found gave a beautiful smooth, close shave. I have previously been using the philips nivea...

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite good but not top rate
Some things about the Phillips Power Touch Plus PT870cc are good. When charged it does seem to give quite a close shave, but the cleaning system is awfully fiddly. Every few days it seems to need topping up with cleaning fluid because otherwise the device which lowers the razor into the fluid refuses to do so and then raises the shaver out of the fluid with much flashing...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great razor.,
This review is from: Philips PowerTouch Plus PT870cc Dual Precision Rechargeable Electric Shaver with Clean and Charge System (Personal Care)I've had a Phillips razor before and like this one too, it does the job and holds a good charge - enough for a week's shaving and is washable under the tap which is great - I would buy another.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Close Shave,
This review is from: Philips PowerTouch Plus PT870cc Dual Precision Rechargeable Electric Shaver with Clean and Charge System (Personal Care)I have been using my Philips shaver for a few months now and feel I can give a realistic assessment of the product. It took a while to get used to the rotary motion to shave but once this was mastered it was OK. I can now even pat my head whilst doing it! The base unit malfunctioned and I contacted Philips who sent me a replacement, no quibbling, which works fine. It only takes a minute to connect the cable for charging either through the base unit or directly on to the shaver. I feel it would be a big improvement if the base unit powered from a rechargeable battery but this would obviously add to the cost. All in all a very good shaver, purchased at a bargain price through Amazon with which I am very satisfied.

I have used this Razor since April 2012 hoping I would get used to it , frankly it is the worst purchase I have ever made , I am very lucky if I get a good shave from it , I have constantly a razor burn no matter how carefully I use it , I should have got another Braun , this was a total waste of money .

Although some people complain about the instructions, you really just have to use your common sense.
After 1 hours charge plugged directly from adapter to shaver I tried the 1st shave and I did think it seemed to go slow but its the result that counts and I cannot fault the smooth feel and close cut with no irritation. So onto the cleaning system. The bath for the fluid slips out easily, yes you have to take care to avoid a spill. Plug the unit in 1st & clip it back over the bath. The shaver fits in nicely, Pop down the small clip and switch on to watch the fun. No problems.
At this time I have no idea if the bath is just a gimmick or if it helps with shaving, time will tell. However it suggests you change the fluid after a month so with top ups that's going to be £5 to £6 a month. I think mine may only get a bath once every month and the fluid can go back in the bottle. after all you can wash the shaver under the tap.
There is a charging indicator but it does not tell you how much charge is left. Would it have been all that hard to add that small function?
You are advised to change the blades after 2 years, that's another £35 so I recon it is going to cost you about £80 over 2 years if you are wise.
It seems there is no such thing as a cheap Philishave... Still I like it and am not at all disappointed.
Oh I forgot, the seller dropped the price by £1.05 1 hour after I bought it. No reply to my Email asking for a refund of said amount - No surprise there.
