4.0 out of 5 stars a definite improvement
Halloween H20 is an great film and is easily the best sequel since Halloween 4.

the idea of this film is that it is sent 20 years after Halloween 2 and Michael Myers returns for more slashing and deaths.

the script is good and the acting is excellent

(when compared to Halloween 6 the curse of Michael Myers)

however the reason...

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT THE WORST BUT STILL AN UNNECESSARY REPETITIVE SEQUEL. DONALD PLEASENCE'S ABSENCE IS ALSO A MINUS.
THE MOVIE

After the truly terrible HALLOWEEN V - THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS and HALLOWEEN 6 - THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS the Halloween curse continued with Part 7, HALLOWEEN H20. While Halloween 1 - 4 were rather tame in the violence section, compared to other slasher films, HALLOWEEN 5 and 6 raised the bar. Other than that these two didn't have much else to...

5.0 out of 5 stars "Who was That?" "My Brother!", 20 Aug 2000

5.0 out of 5 stars Rest in piece Michael Myers..., 16 Mar 2000
This is one of the better sequels and has a very good ending that sees Michael Myers come to his senses. Although the film seems short, it delivers some good moments of horror. H20 also honours the John Carpenter original, and there are moments that link to the film PSYCHO (1960), ie; Janet Leigh and her antique car. All in all a good film.

3.0 out of 5 stars a decent blu ray release!, 26 Aug 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
this blu ray release has had a lot of negative press because of poor picture quality and the fact that the film is not released on blu ray in its correct aspect ratio.i have to say that i found the picture quality of this transfer very acceptable and i was pleasantly surprised with the quality because i had read so many negative reviews i bought it anyway and thought well how bad can it be? the transfer is better than the old dvd release and that is essentially what you want from a blu ray, this is never going to be a reference quality blu ray but,it holds it's own and is really quite good.it certainly does not deserve all the negative reviews it has recieved. as for the fact that the film is in the wrong aspect ratio, this did not bother me either.the film should be letterboxed i think, but it has been made to fit the full scren,so you get more picture.i personally prefer this version as i hate letterboxed films,so this was not a problem for me.all in all,i found this release to be more than acceptable and this is proof that sometimes you shouldn't listen to negative reviews, because a review is just someone's personal opinion on what they have seen and if they go into watching a film with very high expectations, and it doesn't delivery what they were expecting, then people often leave a sometimes unfair negative review.i am glad i chose to purchase this blu ray anyway and i enjoyed it very much and at the moment, this is the only blu ray release of halloween h20 available and for the price,i think it is an overall good buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great entry to the Halloween series!!, 28 Jan 2003
By A Customer
Halloween H2O - Twenty Years Later isn't just another teen slasher movie that just gives you gore and violence. It's a highly suspence thriller that makes you terrified for the characters and lives right up until the very end. Jamie Lee Curtis gives an outstanding performance as Laurie Strode, who faked her death, changed her name and is the headmistress of a California private school. She must now face all her fears in order to protect her 17 year old son, John (Josh Hartnett) and kill her brother Michael Myers once and for all. This movie certainly delivered a great experience, it was entertaining, scary and creepy. The reunion between Laurie and Michael is superb. The pace is dynamic, the score is great, and the visualization of the scene is excellent. LL Cool J plays a comic relief and I really enjoyed his performance. The ending climax is great and will leave you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended for fans of the original and fans of true thrillers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprise, surprise !, 22 Jun 2002
Who would of thought that the seventh movie is going to be the best? The first one was masterful, but it didn't have as many scares and chilles as this one. The blood is only used at parts were it's really needed. Not like those blood draining other sequels. It is a shame that they are working on Halloween:Resurrection already what is going to be really hard. How are they going to explain the end this time?
Well that doesn't matter now. Just have fun with the movie and please try don't to scream so much...

Wow,this film is great, right up there with SCREAM.It was written by kevin williamson(Scream 1+2,i know what u did last summer, dawsons creek). This is a very dark and errie film, that takes a look at laurie strode(jamie lee)20 years after the first halloween, which in its self,a fantastic story!!She is still haunted by the night that her brother tryed to kill her,and now hes finally found her.Its a little too short for my likeing, and over too fast. But it is action packed and jamie really is the true scream queen!!BUY NOW**

1.0 out of 5 stars Predictable, unentertaining and sent me to sleep!!! zzzzzzzz, 23 Aug 2001
Yet another boring flick from the halloween series. With its tired out script and non-existant storyline this definately is one worth a miss. Jamie Lee Curtis is still running from her twisted brother who insists on wearing an unflattering mask bought from the local market. (you'd have thought after 20 years he might have changed his image!!) Although it can be bareable if you suffer from insomnia and need help getting to sleep, i would recommend you leave this one alone.
