I have been designing and building websites since 1997. I have worked on several intranets and many large scale projects. Let's say I have extensive experience in IA. And I still learnt a lot from this book!

Donna gives names to structures, tells stories of past projects, and shares helpful advice like "if you eliminate terminology during user testing, document it, or risk a manager replacing your chosen wording with a rejected one, in ignorance".

It may be harder to digest for complete novices. A modicum of familiarity with IA, intranets and websites as well as their technology is assumed.

I'd happily read it again!

Brilliant. The book takes the reader through what information architecture (IA) is and the skills you need to do it, how to do user research, how to plan and categorise your content, how to create and test your information architecture, and how to build and test effective navigation. It takes less than a day to read and gave me the enthusiasm and confidence to get started immediately on clarifying website goals, thinking through what users might be looking for, and how to give them a fair chance of finding it quickly.

Looking for a book on IA and came across this well written book. Good real world examples give in the book.

This has been such a useful book to read going into an information architecture project. It will tell you everything you need to know - nothing more, nothing less - about organising things.

I am still in the middle of reading this book but so far have found it enlightening and a great point of reference. I would recommend for any BA or Information Architect.

Donna Spencer is the queen of card sorting and this book is like the rest of her writing - pragmatic and insightful. If you're into IA, all her work is of interest

This book illustrates the main concepts required for a good IA. It lacks more practical examples however it provides good techniques
