5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read - Great Writer, 13 Jun 2011
This review is from: New Toys (The Fatestones Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
The art of story-telling is not dead! This original, thought-provoking and humourous tale of the battle of good against evil that is waged in what before the children's Christmas presents arrived had been a happy family home. Then the toys take over and pandemonium breaks out. The the thugish, top-of-the-range `Warlords of Pandemonium' are opposed and finally conquered by a slightly shop-soiled, old fashioned teddy bear called Hodge. The cast includes many other skillfully presented character, including the cranky grandmother and, among the toys, my particular favourite, General Nutcraker. This children's book is truly original but it belongs to that category of truly imaginative fiction written by authors such as Roald Dahl, E. Nesbit, Philippa Pearce and C. S. Lewis. I can't wait for the trilogy to be completed!
