I bought this clock for my 3 year old grandson but the first one had to be returned as it didn't keep the time. However Amazon very promptly replaced it and the second one works fine.

He adores 'McQueen' but sadly it has done nothing to help train him with regard to his sleeping routine!

if you want to replace your batteries every few days, buy this clock. but if you care about the environment, find another one! my son loves it, but it goes thru the batteries soooooo quickly.

This clock is too bright when lit up with the night scene, twice the size you would expect and as the night scene shines through the day scene, when its time to get up the clock face actually goes dark! Not good in a dark room in the winter!
Also, as it is based on a standard clock the illuminated night scene turns off every time the clock hands pass over the set time. As most children sleep twelve hours, this means if your child goes to bed at 7 and you want them to get up at 7, you will have to go in and reset it after they've gone to bed. The only good feature of this clock is that the light and the clock have separate batteries.

I got it and as I was looking cheaper alternative to gro clock
here are my observation.
- it requires 4 AA batteries and trust me you need loads of them if you want to use it everyday. EATS them like crazy
- if your child goes to bed at 7pm and you want to set wake up time at 8am, it won't let you unless the clock hands passed 8am/pm already
- you can hardly see what time it is as the numbers are done on the plastic outside dial
- the light isn't that bright in my opinion, it is ok.
- cheapish item.

Returned and refunded as was not able to switch night mode on. Would also prefer clock to be mains powered not battery operated.

Bought this to help my son stay in bed and not get up at 5. Is working extremely well am very impressed. My son is also a massive Lighting Mcqueen fan which helps. The batteries do run out fast but we're using rechargables and it's fine. It also took a bounce down the stairs today it is still working and there are no scratchs or dents

We got this as a present as my son likes CARS and was getting up a few times in the night. We tried to use it but found that the 'night light' was too bright and kept waking him up. You cannot change the strength of the light. Also it stops working really quickly as the batteries run out. Not being used. Waste of money.

Very poor...Bought it to keep our son in his own bed until it's time to get up... But it doesn't keep time so useless as a clock...and he is past the stage of needing a nightlight!
From where we live would cost more to return than what we paid so very disappointed :(

We kept this out of reach of our toddler, yet the light has broken already. It hasn't worked- he would just get up to tell us he would stay in bed until the light went out- now the light is broken he thinks he can get up anytime- total waste of money & effort.

It has helped my son stay in bed longer on the mornings so he knows when its still night time. It would have been better if the back ground changed from a day picture to a night one not just the light on when night and light of when day. My son loves it
