Well I enjoyed them.

I thought that this five part series of 50 minute films was a gem. Put together by Lawrence Gordon Clark, who was responsible for many of the "Ghost Story for Christmas" series on the BBC, the series combines imaginative stories from the likes of Stephen Gallager and Peter Straub with impressive acting, direction and special effects. Yes, it is a little dated, and won't appeal to everyone - as all the negative votes on this page seem to indicate - but I found each episode very enjoyable. They were clever but not unduly "bloody" and violent. At £9 for 5 hours of solid entertainment this new two disc set seems good value for money for viewers with a fascination for macabre television of the past.
If that isn't for you just don't buy it. The stories are often surprising and always rather chilling! Highly recommended for folks like me!
