Unchartered 3 is one of the best games I've ever played. Drawing its cinematic inspiration from Indiana Jones, and it's game play from the legendary Tomb Raider series (mixed with modern shooters) it's bang on the mark in every regard.
The story is sharp, full of twists and most of all extremely funny. The characters dialogue is just excellently written. Your journey takes you all over the world with some fascinating locations and absolutely beautiful graphics. In fact the graphics are about the best I have seen on this gen console. The detailing is amazing. MGS4 and this are showcases for how good the PS3 is for games.
Gameplay is a lot of fun, so much so that I had absolutely no problem starting another play through right after I'd finished the main campaign (a first for me). A mix of gun fights, stealth, puzzles, QTE and hand to hand combat it covers a lot of ground to make playing it varied and exciting. Mix into that the amount of different locations across the globe you explore and it's definitely like playing the film the latest Indiana Jones should have been.
Some may argue that Uncharted 3's near-linear gameplay holds it back. This is false in my view. The game feels exciting even with a Tomb Raider-esque predetermined path. In fact Tomb Raider was fantastic even with this so-called problem. Anyway I don't see it as an issue.
Multiplayer is a lot of fun and gives you lots of modes and lots of character customisation. I didn't experience any lag whatsoever. Co-op is also a really nice feature and something I hope more and more games add.
If you're new to the Playstation 3 (as I am) PLEASE buy uncharted 3. I now intend to go and play 1 and 2.
