For those of you looking for an in depth review of this Plasma screen I recommend
you go to the AVForum web site and read Flash3d report, I pretty much agree with everything that is stated, for those of you who want a quick review here goes;
Having searched and searched the usual sites for a deal on this Tv I ended up at Amazon as it was the best deal at the time and included a pair of free glasses.
The Tv came on time, well packaged and was delivered by a decent delivery company.
Before buying I was really concerned about the weight and size of the screen as I had to get it up and down a flight of stairs, however it is much lighter and more manoeuvrable than its predecessors of a few years ago and was not a problem.
This Tv really is brilliant, attractive slim looking frame, easy to setup, vibrant colours, deep blacks, the best skin tones although most of you will want to adjust the colour settings from the standard settings as they are little out, for my eyes at least, the 2D and 2D TO 3D is stunning and having watched Avatar in 3d I can only say WOW!
I did not purchase this Tv primarily for the 3D aspect but I have to admit you do find yourself looking for programmes or DVD`s to watch a lot of the time.
When you consider this 59" screen has all of the above and also includes Smart Tv with wifi connectivity, then you look at the price tag it really is a no brainer.
You will notice I have awarded four stars and not five, well if the set didn`t have speakers it would have had five but the sound does let it down a little in my opinion, bear in mind though, I run mine with a 7.2 Bi-amped speaker surround sound system so my benchmark may be a little extreme (I also have an old 36" Panasonic CRT Tv and the sound is much better on that to). Remember, if you buy this screen make sure you buy an 1.4a HDMI High speed cable as this will ensure both the highest quality of audio and video produced from your ancillary equipment.

After having been using this TV for around 3-4weeks now I am still flabbergasted by the sheer quality of the product as a whole.

My previous TV was the 3D 7000 Samsung series, which was nice until this beauty arrived.

The picture quality is much better then last generations models, even though this is the entry level 6000 series, it blows away my previous mid range model, totally. For a start, this plasma does not need any burn in time(well I haven't noticed any). There is NO screen retention whatsoever! This was a MASSIVE problem with the 7000 I had previously(and is a problem for plasmas generally!). The TV looks fantastic, and actually sounds very good out of the box. The stand is solid and nice, You can swivel the TV and it is very thin, almost like owning a LED TV(but with a MUCH better picture!). It is truly a massive jump forward from the previous generation.

I haven't been following reviews and such regarding this range but I cannot believe the price it sells for, believe me you are getting ALOT of TV for your money. You will need to buy a pair of 3D glasses separately unfortunately, as they only come with the 8000 series. But at this price? seriously, you won't complain. I believe some of the big hits are getting released this year, including Avatar 3D (better late then never) around Christmas, but you might want to check this, this is a great time to upgrade with TVs like this coming out at knockdown prices, the future really is 3D, or at least it will always be a choice. Watching the French Open Tennis on Eurosport 3D, well magic and it's there to stay... Tour de France :-)

The SMART online service with this set is absolutely BRILLIANT. I can't go into much depth, but it has LOADS of apps (inc BBC iPlayer), the usual suspects and more. It just makes my previous TV seem like an old CRT. It has built in wireless(the previous range you had to spend around £60+ for a dongle).

The remote is not a flashy stainless steel one like I had with the 7000, it is black plasic but I actually like it much more, it's more responsive and doesn't slip out of my hand. It ain't a looker but it's got it where it counts(the remote)!

On a final note. I do not use Freeview at all, so cannot comment on it.

As you can see, it ticks all the boxes.

I have had very little dealings with Samsung support, so can't really comment, and I have only had the TV 3-4 weeks.

I will however update this if there is anything untoward to report.

I have noticed very minor picture retention, mainly the toolbar of windows 7(i use my pc through it). considering the amount of time i use my pc on the tv it is very understandable. the good news is is that it disappears if i watch a bit of tv or a few movies.

This TV is awesome! 2D image quality using Freeview HD or Blu-Ray is VERY good, having a picture that big makes a huge difference for me.
Colour vibrant, contrast good, on-screen motion smooth.
On-screen controls work well.
Haven't tried 3D or other bells and whistles, can't comment on audio (I use a separate audio system).
Have used BBC iPlayer over WiFi, very good quality.
There is a tiny buzz (like many plasmas) but only if you get up close - not a problem.
(I ordered the PS59D500 but sent it back, buzz was significant and screen reflection was a problem.)

Overall it feels like very good value for money. If you enjoy watching TV then this set will take it to the next level!

I spent weeks researching 3D TVs and finally settled for the 51 inch Samsung as it seemed to represent the best value for money. So far I have no regrets. The image quality is excellent, sound is great and 3D is fantastic. I have the TV hooked up to my PS3, and playing Motorstorm Apocalypse in 3D is incredible. The TV even does a good job of converting standard TV channels and DVDs into 3D. I watched Star Wars (A New Hope) on DVD in 3D and now don't really see the need for the 3D releases we can expect in a few years. So far it has exceeded all of my expectations. My only regret is that I wish I'd bought it sooner. As stated in the full description, the only issue is that it doesn't come with any 3D glasses.

The Samsung PS51D6900 represents great value for money. Like most Samsung tellies looks great especially for a plasma,almost LED in appearance. Very happy with the overall picture quality and cost. Bought this Tv as a 2nd set to my Samsung UE55D8000 and would have to say this TV does have the edge when it comes to style,level of detail and vibrancy of colours. Blacks are very similar but the plasma is miles better when it comes to picture uniformity as the LED can shows signs of bleeding on certain broadcasts. The Samsung UE55D8000 is a terrific TV but you'll hard pressed to beat the PS516900 for half the price.

I sold my 5 year old 40" JVC LCD and replaced it with this unit. I did review others' feedback plus bought a magazine before deciding. I am convinced this was a great selection. The picture quality is excellent. I replaced my DVD player at the same time and bought a Panasonic unit and without even trying Blu-Ray I was very impressed. PS3 Games are much improved too! Why not 5 stars? On screen reflections ARE very noticeable, whether windows or wall lights. That said, clothes the curtains, lights off, sound through the Denon system and you have an excellent home cinema. Enjoy!

- City Link who was in charge of delivering the TV provide an exceptionally poor service. My TV arrived with a broken bezel and this is not the first time I receive broken products from City Link. It's a shame Amazon.co.uk deal with them.

just received my tv,,,,its GREAT. the volume is good (have found this lackingon most tvs with out having a surround sound kit connected)the picture is great,clear and crisp, everything about this tv is stylish,my grandaughter and myself "2 tecnaphobic blondes",set this up all by ourselves, THATS HOW EASY IT IS we are still working our way through the SMART TV,,but its all good fun THE 3D IS VERY GOOD,with the added of advantage of being able to download direct to the tv from the internet, AND ITS ALL FREE, my son just paid over 50pounds for entrance for 2adults and 2kids to watch one movie in 3d,,, so im very pleased with the whole package,,with not much difference between this and a normal TV its a BLINDING BUY FOR ANY FAMILY thankyou AMAZON,and its customers for all the tec info,,,and thankyou samsung for a great affordable product,,,,,,i did veiw at currys, about 6different 3d models including the new lg passive 550t,,samsung 8000 but the quality/price didnt seem woth it ,,,,i stand by my choice as the best allrounder for the average family home

I purchased this TV having done a lot of research and looked around all the major retailers at what the various manufacturers had to offer. I've now owned it a couple of weeks and have been really impressed - a big improvement over my previous Sony Bravia full HD LCD.

The quality of the picture is outstanding using Sky HD and Blu Ray. Crystal clear as you'd expect and very crisp even when there's a lot of motion on screen - football for example. The sound from the TV is good enough as well although I have invested in a 5.1 surround sound system to complete the home cinema.

I was a bit sceptical about the 3D but it's tremendous! Well worth getting Sky 3D - uses the regular Sky+ HD box and you just activate on their website - it's no extra if you have Sky World and the range of sports, documentaries, entertainment and films you get is fantastic. I've already watched five 3D films in a couple of weeks and looking at the price of the Blu Rays it would cost you close to £100 to get these. You do have to buy the active glasses (which don't come with this TV). A pair cost me £60 with Megamind 3D Blu Ray chucked in. They're comfortable to wear and I've not experienced any problems with headaches while watching long films or sports (watched rugby, football and golf so far - all excellent in 3D).

In summary, this is the best value for money 3D TV I could find and I thoroughly recommend it. Worth checking for 'like new' deals from Amazon Warehouse - I got mine for £670 and the only difference I could see was it came in an Amazon box. Other than that it looked brand new to me!

Oh, and if you're going to spend the money on a telly like this then do yourself a favour and get Sky HD with Sky 3D to get the best out of it.

Like everyone else, I spent quite some time reading and researching which television I should buy. I gave myself some loose criteria which were at least 50", Plasma and that I was going to give 3D a go.

After a close brush with buying a Panasonic (hate it when people say Panny!), I'd read enough good reviews on this one to take the plunge and click the button.

I chose PRC because they cannot be touched on price, anywhere. I'd just moved house so unfortunately I couldn't buy direct from their website due to delivery address not matching bank address. I say unfortunately because on their site, top level delivery is £19.99 whereas standard delivery is £24.99 through Amazon. This meant from ordering the set on 13th March, it arrived at my door on 21st March. If you can exercise a little bit of patience, it's all good. I had a call from someone on 19th to tell me when my delivery would be so that I could arrange to be at home, all good. When it arrived, two guys brought it in to the house. They didn't ask me if they should though, they just carried it in. They should maybe have asked because once inside my door, they are uninsured. Nor did they ask me for identification which the PRC website reckons they would. They were going to lay it down and walk off but I insisted we opened it up and checked the contents first which they were more than happy to do, they opened it all up for me too which was nice as I would have opened it from the top, not realising how it actually opens, thanks lads! Even had two sets of glasses in there which I wasn't expecting!

The television took no time to setup, the stand was easy to assemble with a phillips screwdriver and that was even with my 'all fingers and thumbs' excitement mode firmly in play. I had also already bought the Samsung HT-D6750 7.1 system and they go beautifully together. In no time at all I'd gone through the setup and had it connected to my hidden wireless network.

The picture looks superb, lovely blacks and it just feels natural and warm. Lovely colours too, very sharp and it's just beautiful :) The edging around the outside with the touch buttons in is a great touch.

I had bought Alice in Wonderland 3D in advance of this moment and gave it a whirl and wow, it looks so good. There was no crosstalk that I could see, just lovely depth and effects and this isn't supposed to be one of the better ones! One day I might get to try Avatar (thanks PANNY ;) !!).

Overall, really pleased with this set. I don't hear any buzzing or whatever, it just does everything I wanted it to and the smart hub stuff is really nice too.

I rang them once to ask about when delivery would be and the guy hardly sounded enthusiastic but then again why would he, I imagine they are inundated with people clicking buy and then ringing day and night saying where is it, where is it, where is it.

I'm sure I'll try out some of the other connectivity features in time, it's loaded with features as you'd see from the spec lists. If you just want a really nice plasma set with excellent 2D and 3D, something that looks great and at a really nice price too, buy this from here. Nobody can touch this price, not even MC Hammer.
