Hard to fit
on 3 February 2015
WARNING: fitting it was very difficult. First, you need some kind of tool to poke out the rod securing the old strap to the watch - that's not tricky, but the hard part is getting it back in and through the loops of the new strap. That's because the new leather is very stiff. Too much force will bend the rod. I had to dig around in the strap loops with a pointy tool to loosen them, and even shave a very small amount off the sides (with a scalpel) to get it to fit. (And yes, it IS the right size for my watch.)
It must have taken me over an hour in all.
It's not a problem with the strap itself, by the way, which is perfect - it's just the nature of the materials and fixing.
Next time I'd be tempted to buy a strap from a watch shop and get them to fit it, even if it does cost a little more.
