4.0 out of 5 stars Useful book
This book is very concise and to the point. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good reading but not enough depth
I enjoyed reading this but I feel tat it could have benefit Ted from a little more depth, and a little more analysis of the relationship aspect of verbal abuse.

This book is very concise and to the point. It gives a no nonsense approach to recognising emotional abuse and the impact it has which is very reassuring as one of the primary effects if EA is that the victim doubts herself or himself and is impotent in making the necessary changes to make the damaging relationship end. An improvement would be to focus upon the practical aspects of leaving when a victim has children. Contact is mentioned but not how to negotiate the home circumstances of the children which is crucial when making such a huge decision to leave.

This book tells it how it is. As you read it you see your own situation described and explained. This really "tells it like it is" and gives practical straightforward advice. Understanding my situation helped me change it and relieved me of a lot of the confusion I was experiencing. Would recommend this book.
