I was a bit surprised to see all the pictures of ladies on this page - either there are two very different groups called Arabesque, or they're going in for belly dance music.
Anyway, no ladies on this one sadly. What you do get are three very talented multi-instrumentalists playing a range of Middle Eastern stuff: Turkish dance music, classical oud solos, Gnawa-style Moroccan rhythms. It's all traditional acoustic music, no 'beatz'. A lot of it is excellent; the only reason I haven't given five stars is that about a quarter of the album is taken up with drum solos. For me, a couple of minutes of that - whether it's Arabesque or John Bonham - is quite enough.
