I really fancied this book as it sounded perfect for what I needed:get back into drawing withouth complicated and boring methods. At first I wasn' patient enough and just bought the Kindle version. I put a few exercises in practice and it was amazing. It really liberates you from rigid boring traditional techniques and has you trying stuff that might sound silly but actually help you out unleashing your creativity such as drawing with the 'wrong' hand or drawing without looking.

The kindle version is alright I guess, but as you know these electronic versions are completely wiped out of any fancy editorial design and left stripped down to the very basics, like a Word document, which is alright for books filled with just text but it's terrible for books with lots of color, images and design.

So I ordered the real book and I'm delighted it's even lovelier than what I had expected. It has a lot more images than the e-copy, the design is superb, the quality of the paper is matte and grainy so it feels very soulful and arty, and it's bigger and thicker than I expected. Big fan. I'll be buying more books like this by the same author for sure.

I received this a few days ago and have had a bash at a few of the ideas today.
I've been lacking inspiration so, a bit of direction was most welcome.
I enjoyed having a go at some of the tasks, and will probably tackle a few more.
Ideal for those times when your get up and go has got up and gone!

I bought this book for my teenage daughter and she loves it! It is full of fun ideas to get you started - oh look one a week!! Im sure hard-core practitioners wont find it useful but its not really aimed at them - this is a book for beginners or those who are struggling to get over a creative block - its actually been quite useful to me and Im a painter.

I bought this as I wanted to start creating small illustrations, both for business and for fun, and this book is packed with great tips and exercises to make it all really appealing and fun! Plus the illustrations examples inside are amazing! I got the kindle version as I wanted to carry it around with me, so the only shame is that I cannot see the colours but the images look so beautiful anyway!

I bought 3 other books on the subject at the same time and this is my most useful one!
If you are just needing a push to start drawing or a reminder or inspiration for new ideas this book is great. From "a Day in the Zoo" to working along with children the book has given me new ideas and something different to choose from every time I want to draw.

This is a really fun and well put together book. Full of creative ideas to get you going with drawing and art. For me, a brilliant way to get rid of those 'blank page' nerves, and not take drawing too seriously. When you free yourself up in this way it enables you to be a better artists all round - maybe even a better person.

An ideal book if you are blocked.. will wake up your creativity without a doubt. Lots of examples of other artists work for inspiration, plenty of ideas for techniques, quite brilliant actually! Highly recommend to all artists!

What a lot is crowded into the pages here. Such a great resourse. There is also a version for children but this is just fabulous for extending a simple idea and giving ideas to teachers and artists alike.
