4.0 out of 5 stars Have mercy,my fate is in the hands of the king.
Yes,In Solitude may be influenced by mercyful fate and king diamond but they still have their own thing going on.Occult inspired lyrics and another entry in the 'new wave of swedish heavy metal with melodic vocals and proper tunes' bunch of bands, along with kindred spirits, ghost and portrait.I never listened to old school metal growing up,even though I was the exact right...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Devil, He's a Reet bad lad!
It's OK.
Yes OK. Nothing special.
If you want a Mercyful Fate for the modern day then you may well like it.
I liked the Mercyful Fate of the olden days.

So BUY if you want. DON'T buy if you don't want to. It's up to you. Why should you make up your mind based on what some complete stranger on the internet says.

Yes,In Solitude may be influenced by mercyful fate and king diamond but they still have their own thing going on.Occult inspired lyrics and another entry in the 'new wave of swedish heavy metal with melodic vocals and proper tunes' bunch of bands, along with kindred spirits, ghost and portrait.I never listened to old school metal growing up,even though I was the exact right age for it at the time, only discovering metal in 88 with bolt thrower. Now thankfully I can appreciate bands like this and they sound fresh and exciting.Like other bands like Cauldron though,it rocks brilliantly for a while but as an album I tend to not get through the whole thing at once.

They may sound like Mercyful Fate, but do you know what? Who cares, In Solitude have taken all that was great from King Diamond and crew and distilled it into some new and fresh for the Twenty First century.

So even if you are as old as me and were down in front banging your head the first time around, give this a go and it will make you feel like that again. And if you are new to this, enjoy and welcome to your new favourite occult heroes.
