Vampire knight is now my new favourite tv show, you can't help but watch more and more, it grips you into its romantic and intense story. You can't help but fall in love with the characters.
This dvd box set has all of the season 1 episods 1-13 you can watch it in japanese with subs or in english dub, the english voice acting is well done and does not look or sound shabby.

OK so lets get straight down to it, this is a romance between vampires and humans, this of course will lead to the twilight comparison being drawn up somewhere, don't let this put you off though, where twilight fails (essentially everywhere it possibly can) vampire knight gets right.
Unlike with twilight all the characters are instantly relate-able, it has good amount of action and also features some interesting sub plots underneath the romance triangle, a character trying to fight becoming the very thing he hates, somewhat racial tension issues between the vampires and humans, uncertain back story of the female lead, the mysterious element to the lead vampires intentions, all interwoven really well to give the story depth and keep you coming back for more.
Another thing vampire knight does well is convey vampires in the light they should be shown as, bringing across the ferality of vampires, the fact that they are at heart savage beasts when around humans despite them trying to fight it, oh and they don't sparkle thank god.

So yeah ultimately a brilliant vampire romance with more than just a love triangle going on, great art style and good pacing, seriously recommend people give this a go!

A good series about a love triangle between a vampire & a non vampire who is his protector while he is at school. this True Blood vampire saved her when she was young. The animation could be better and the story line is good. I have not seen all episodes yet. CAUTION when you get the disc set there are two discs. To get episodes 5 to 8 you have to turn disc 1 over like the old LP's. i have never come across this before

I instantly loved Vampire Knight as soon as I watched the first episode. The storyline and the characters are gripping. Yuki Cross the lead female is a loveable and beautiful female lead role, who is caring, independent and unique. Zero Kiriyu is a strong, volatile leading male. Both these characters I became very attached to throughout the course of the anime, and the shocks and twists always kept me rooting for both of them. I also enjoyed how Koname Kuran was such a mysterious individual, and you never fully knew his full intentions throughout the duration of the anime- only that his love and adoration for Yuki would never fail.

I would recommend this to anyone who is relatively new at watching anime, the story line is fluid, straight to the point and easy to understand. The opening and closing songs are addictive, so beware.

All in all 10/10

Vampire Knight series and story line is one of the kind - new vampire world for vampire fans. Very intence and romantic love triangle's story. I love both heros - Kaname and Zero. They are so different and at the same time, they have one thing in common. Love for Yuki. Yuki will have a difficult choice to make.
I recommend to everyone, who love vampire stories with the romance.
I watched both series Vampire Knight and Vampire Knight Guilty. Amazing! Now I just have to read through all the Vampire Knight manga books.

This is the first anime that I have watched, I decided to buy it because my boyfriend is interested in anime and manga. I wanted to watch it with him so I decided to go with Vampire Knight as I love vampires. This series really compelled me and both me and my boyfriend enjoyed it. It has made me want to watch more anime. This product can be played in Japanese with English subtitles or have English dubbing. I must say that the English dub is very good and satisfied me as I do not really like films that are not originally in English as I hate reading subtitles if I can hear clearly.

The characters are all very interesting and have individual weaknesses and strengths that I admire. This made the experience more enjoyable as the 'vampires' each had their own characteristics and personalities. This is not common when vampires are involved. Overall, I am really happy with this purchase and am excited to watch more Anime in the future! I recommend this.

Have been a VK fan for years, having read the manga even before it was released in English, and was very happy watching the anime.

Vampire Knight is great,watched the first and second episode and got hooked so I bought the first and second series, Loved the characters Yuki,Kaname and the headmaster Cross, very well done,hope there are to come.

Well, firstly, let me just say that I've never been more attracted to a vampire before in my life! Kaname is a strong and silent type, who is in love with the main character, Yuki. Yuki likes him too (who wouldn't??) but something is holding her back. Could it be her childhood friend, Zero?
Caught between two handsome boys whom are 'mortal' (heheh) enemies, will she follow her destiny, or will she choose her own...?

*WARNING: This anime contains no sparklers, werewolf hunks that are hardly ever fully clothed or plot-holes. If there were a movie, it would surely be awesome, rather than a downgrade of the books due to terrible acting.

Love this anime, well worth watching. It has a great story line, and the characters are brilliant. Can't wait to watch the next part
