5.0 out of 5 stars A heartfelt story
What a lovely story about a mothers love and how far she will go to save her daughter. Couldn't put it down. I agree with the other reviewers, a followup would be great, but would it be as good?

3.0 out of 5 stars A Newborn Gift
I downloaded and read this book as it was free.

It is a Mills and Boon book written by Nikki Logan about a big secret. Lea became accidentally pregnant when she had a one night stand and decided that she would go it alone. Five years later, she has to tell the baby's father as her little girl is fighting for survival with her only hope being a new brother or...

I couldn't stop reading this! I think I've found another "favourite" author!

The story is about a Mother who is so desperate to save her only child, she will do anything to try to save her. Even if that means approaching the Father, who she'd had a one night stand with five years earlier, and someone who she'd tried so hard to forget.

This had me gripped all the way through. The characters are very well rounded, the settings are so well described, I could easily imagine them.

All round, a brilliant story.

4.0 out of 5 stars sucessful first read!, 5 April 2011
This review is from: Their Newborn Gift (Mills & Boon Cherish) (Kindle Edition)
This was my first kindle read. It was a lovely story, lighthearted and easy to pick up and put down. I would have liked the story to have gone on a little further and dscussed the stem cell success but i think thats the medical person in me. Would highly recommend. Cant wait to find similar books.

I usually read romance novels for a bit of light reading whilst I'm winding down. However, this was quite thought provoking and probably what could be considered quite a controversial subject by some.

As a mother I found it extremely moving and I thoroughly enjoyed it, finishing in only two sittings. A really good free download, my first introduction to this author and I would happily read her again.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Newborn Gift, 22 Mar 2011
This review is from: Their Newborn Gift (Mills & Boon Cherish) (Kindle Edition)
I downloaded and read this book as it was free.

It is a Mills and Boon book written by Nikki Logan about a big secret. Lea became accidentally pregnant when she had a one night stand and decided that she would go it alone. Five years later, she has to tell the baby's father as her little girl is fighting for survival with her only hope being a new brother or sister.

It reads in traditional Mills and Boon style, but I did find myself skimming ahead for something exciting to happen. The story started off very well but lost it's momentum midway through and never really regained it.

The idea behind this story would have been brilliant, but I found that it was aimed at a slightly different target audience than myself.

A sweet complicated drama romance that has you hooked within the first few pages. One of the kindles free editions which is worth reading and has a happy ending.

An easy to read book, predictable but enjoyable enough to see me through to the end. A quick read, managed to read it whilst my child had her afternoon nap. I would recommend it whilst it's free

This story is interesting and heart breaking in parts, but it's not really a great novel. The writing itself is very well done, very descriptive and good at drawing you in, but the story itself is very weak. The idea that their daughter is dying and needs a sibling in order to save her life would normally be a great story in itself but at times you kind of feel like that is being used just to get the main characters together. It is kind of like the author couldn't think how she could get the couple together so said I know what, maybe their daughter can be dying. The focus seems to be more on their relationship and not on their daughter's life. Good for a read but not great fiction.
