A solid 3 star zombie movie. 5 stars for producing what they did on the low budget. 5 stars for the story (yes ok its a variation on a theme, but actually its a good variation). 5 stars for the excellent use of a vacuum cleaner hose. 1 star for the ever so likely rather stiff acting (although Martha Prentiss as Margaret is a 5). 1 star for the rather predictable list of characters who live to the end of the film. 1 star for the predictable storyline twist part way in. 3 stars for the budget sfx (shows what you can do with a home PC).

On the whole I think tha thet wooden (low budget) acting in a story like this is probably far more acurate to what could happen in the real world for in a situation like this than the big budget smooth 'I know what to do' acting.

OK'ish film.

Nothing original or different about the story compared to others that have gone before. Acting is on par with the genre, neither good nor bad. I took it through to the end so its probably worth a look if you have gone through the rest of the Amazon library.

When this movie first started, it reminded me of an early 70's low budget B type effort. I was wrong, it was much worse than that.

The action scenes, and there weren't many, consisted of zombies chasing the survivors, who turned and shot a few, laughably predictable, and not horror at all.

Most of the movie was taken up with boring dialogue which must have been thought up by 5 year olds, and spouted by actors who seemed to be made out of wood, and dangled on strings.

I have to say, this was the worst so called zombie horror movie I have ever seen, I watched it to the end just to see if it picked up, no chance, waste of time and money, I recommend you stay well away from this one, unless you need something to send you to sleep.

Have to mention the other 2 reviews, did they watch the same movie? Or are they involved in it? Can't believe their comments.

At the time of writing there are three other reviews, and while I can't award this movie 5 stars as two of my fellow zombie-ites have done, neither can I go along with Ken who dismisses it as one-star garbage.

Because for my money - while by no means a 'classic' of the genre - this film is nonetheless a tight little piece of zombie action that basically delivers what it says on the tin despite the shoestring budget it was clearly shot on. There are a few dodgy CGI effects and explosions, it's more or less predictable as to who'll die and who'll survive and what sort of ending the film will have, and there are no unexpected plot twists or anything of that nature. The main characters are also fairly stereotypical for this type of film: We have the square-jawed hero, the attractive young woman, the boorish redneck and his girlfriend, the nerd, the older "mother" figure and the brave military guy. The only one missing is the bad-ass (or funny) black dude. There are also (cough) 'nods' aplenty to films such as 'Night Of the Living Dead', '28 Days/Weeks Later' and also the excellent 'Walking Dead' TV series. So in short, there's nothing here that hasn't been done before.

On the 'plus' side however, a bunch of unknown actors turn in sound enough performances, the zombie make-up and gore are effective and well done, the movie is nicely paced, and (a couple of outdoor 'chase' sequences aside) the action isn't marred by the dreaded 'shakycam' / 'documentary' style of camerawork that's blighted so many what would otherwise have been good movies over the past decade or so (a craze that I feel has long outstayed its welcome and really needs putting to bed now - so directors MOVE ON, PLEASE!!!).

My recommendation is that if you like a nice bit of zombie mayhem on a Friday or Saturday night that won't overtax the old grey matter and that you can enjoy with a couple of beers and a bucket of KFC, either rent it or buy it if you see it at a reasonable price. I give it a sound three stars.

Some decent acting by some and not by others. Some decent gore effects. And the movie started out quite promising, with a couple who were quite believable characters. Once the plot reaches the house though, it quickly became a Night Of The Living Dead rip-off, and of course you've seen it all before. I didn't have enough interest to watch the last half - just skipped to the end to see the very poor photoshop-like final shot. Even for low budget this could have been much better.

Scrapes through with a 2 out of 5, make-up was not bad but the cast is a bit meh (very formulaic and mostly meh acting) - plot was run of the mill and character development wasn't really there. Quite a bit of the dialogue is cringy and should've been edited out or condensed. Not bad for a low budget or My First Zombie movie but lack of interesting plot/characters/setting made it a little bit meh overall.

Fairly low budget, dull movie. Huge fan of zombie movies, low or high budget, this one just wasn t very interesting. I could barely watch it to the end.
Group of people in a house, zombies outside pretty much sums up the entire plot. The characters were not that interesting, the fear wasn t really there, not a great survival story.

I've watched alot of Zombie movies, from the high budget ones all the way down to the B-movies. This is a mid-level one. If you are used to the high budget ones you will be disappointed, if you watch the B-movie ones then this is one of those but slightly better.

It is lowish budget but there are some effects, the make up is good considering what they had to work with as some are over the top masks or just a bit of blue face paint.

Plotwise it is just like night of the living dead with survivors holed up in a house and boarded up doors and windows. The boards are precarious and are just inviting zombies to break them down. lol

Characterwise they covered the bases with a formulaic selection. Sadly the one the shines is the redneck that just loves to cause trouble. He's annoying but also makes it more interesting at the same time as he's as dangerous as the zombies. Much as you want him to die you realize that if he goes the film will get rather boring as he is actually the one that you feel most for even though it is negative.

The dialogue is rather poor sometimes and certain scenes where they discover and piece things together are overly long and the script writer struggles with cliched lines, they really could have edited the dialogue better some times. Actually it feels like they ad libbed some of it. 5 minutes of discovering and explaining a bookcase that reveals a staircase as a secret passage is a bit tedious and should have been condensed.

There's actually a fair bit of action although it tends to follow a similar pattern. Corpse from earlier shootouts always disappear when in fact the entrance to the house should have been several bodies high.

All that said it was watchable and i was entertained a bit, some of the poorer ones i can't even bare to sit through.

Good enough, everyone played there part and died exactly when you expected them to, but not too much ham just some poor special effects at the end.
