Komputerbay 8GB 2X 4GB DDR2 800MHz PC2-6300 PC2-6400 DDR2 800 (200 PIN) SODIMM Laptop Memory
on 29 March 2012
Frankly speaking, this memory has given me hard time with my laptop. There is no single day that the laptop has not crashed 3-4 time with BSOD.
I bought this initially on 25th February after installing Windows 7 64bit and the trail of system crashes started. on suggestion from Dell ProSupport, I tested the RAM using Memory Diagnostic tool and it resulted with Memory Integrity Error/Fault for one of the DIMMS. I contacted Amazon, since it was an FBA, they suggested to return the product as replacement was not possible for FBA (But I have recently seen reviews where it says that similar defective products from the seller have been replaced as well).
Anyways, I returned thinking it might have been one such lot which I received, so I re-ordered as replacement was not possible. The second pair, the Diagnostics program fails for both the DIMMS now. The laptop crashes with BSOD at least 5-6 times a day while I am working on it. I was thinking of contacting Amazon again and I received an email asking for review and feedback for my bravery so here I am writing this detailed review that this product is not reliable at all.
There is no replacement as it is FBA which I doubt since there have been replacements before for this product.
Also I seriously do not understand why the same product is being sold at 2 different rates on Amazon - at one place £90 and another instance of £100.

In the end -
1) it was guaranteed to be delivered by 23rd March, which it failed by a day.
2) The product is defective and I don't know if it would be replaced with right one.
3) The product in its current state is not reliable at all.
