This mower is much better than my old one. It's lightweight and easy to handle and store, the handle folds down easily. It's good value for money. I love it. Flymo are the best.

Got rid of my petrol mower and got a manual one as I down-sized my home (and garden). My 'new' garden is mainly laid to lawn and only gets bits of sun (when it shines). So when it has been dry this year (2012), it was like a first-cut each time; which was a bit of a strain on my back and time. So I purchased the Flymo 330 to get and keep the lawn passed the 'first-cut' phases. I did a cut at maximum height (no spacers fitted), immediately followed by a cut with 2 of the 3 spacers in place (3 spacers are provided: fitting all 3 will gives you the shortest lawn (I suppose a No 1 in haircut terms)). It didn't do as good a job as my old top of the range petrol mower, but it is a quarter of the price, the motor coped well and it was easy to manoeuvre. It threw up a fair bit of grass cuttings into the air, especially on turns; so if you suffer from hay fever (I don't), I wouldn't bother with a hover-mower of any sort. Basically, it's light, easy to use and store. It will spread some cuttings around the place, but that's the nature of the beast, but works well for me and gives me more time to drink beer without having a back-ache, and ensured the herds of elephants that I'm sure were roaming around in the long grass have had to find other hiding places to haunt.

I am finding this an excellent successor to my previous flymo 330. It is lightweight and handles well during cutting and is also easily transported. The handle folds and unfolds with ease and requires no tightening of bolts. Cleaning is easy. Grass box lid is transparent so can see when to empty it. Changing height of blade is easy and quick. The wind-up cord storer on the handle has a quick release mechanism.
All in all it is great; just hope the motor lasts longer than it's predecessor's.

The Flymo Glider is an OK product, but with too many problems to make it 4 or 5 stars...
BAD: It won't Glide. It seems to 'dig-in' and get stuck quite often. It doesnt like going sideways or turning. Handle is too low (i'm only 5-10).BUT WORST OF ALL is the MESS. It blows clippings everywhere!!! I spend more time clearing up paths and patio afterwards then cutting the lawn. The grass collection box was great (for the grass it did collect) for the first two or three outings, but is now scored and dirty so i cannot see how full the box is. Construction of body (particularly the orange hatch that lifts when removing the grass box, why was this part even designed onto the machine)is flimsy.
GOOD: Like the fact the tools (blade spanner and spacers) are onboard so wont get lost in shed. Also like the fact it can be stored standing upright (taking up less floor space in shed). Reasonably quiet and vibration free.

This is my third Flymo and I was expecting it to be superior to my previous ones due to advances in technology. However although it cuts satisfactorily the cuttings seem to be blown all over the mower and on my legs and feet. I spend five minutes afterward cleaning the mower and brushing myself down. I have worked out that this is because the size of the holes in the basket are too big for short cuttings so they blow/fall through. This problem was mentioned by a reviewer previously but thought they were just being too fussy! Will be writing to manufacturer about this as I am sure there is a solution.

Regret buying this mower as it is badly designed, cut grass gets stuck in small crevices and difficult to clean, blows cut grass everywhere, hard to handle as it digs in.Clippings are constantly blocking the fan area which results in loss of air flow and therefore does not hover properly.Have contacted Flymo who are not interested other than to tell me to ask retailer for refund. This is the second Flymo appliance that I have bought, the previous one was useless as well.
No more Flymo for me !!!!

Really good deal on this neat lawn mower; easy to lift and manoeuvre, coped fantastically with first cut on a very overgrown lawn! Exceptionally easy to set up and empty, and the cutting-height change system is simple enough for even myself with my limited technical capability to comprehend! Very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend.

So my garden is not a bowling green, it is a real garden with dips lumps and bumps, paving slabs, verges and flower beds.

This lawnmower, whilst being light to carry (relatively) is a pain in the backside to use. It neither flies nor glides (for anyone familiar with Flymos of 20+ years ago). it is prone to gouging and digging in, it doesn't lift far enough and there are no effective rollers to speak of so you end up dragging it over your lawn.

It is actually heavier to use as a lawnmower than to outright carry, especially since it digs in all the time removing topsoil.

Lastly the ergonomics are a pain, the handle is too low down and the 'safety requirement' of pushing the button before switching the mower on every single time requires totally moving your hand and becomes a real chore.

In summary, this was an exceptionally poor purchase, made all the more bitter that Amazon have discounted it a further £15 less than 6 days since I bought it...
