5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for comic writers!, 22 Dec 2012

This book is a treat, both words and the visuals have been put together with genuine care. Due to the excellent artwork it is a book you want to have on your shelf. It's also an excvellent general writing guide as it visualises the process. It might be even more useful for a screenwriter than a comic writer! I'll be using this as a visual aid to teach writing - any writing!

5.0 out of 5 stars History of comics as well as how to write comics, 4 Nov 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Quite an interesting history of comics as well as a 'how to write comics' from the Master excelsior wordsmith himself. Very informative read. Already I can feel a few new comic book titles coming on.. ok, once I get through all the comics piled on my 'to read' stack. There is also a related 'how to draw comics'.. that one baffles, if only that was by jack Kirby ... but still, probably a good read also.

A lot of the cover pics are from the superb range of Dynamite comics

5.0 out of 5 stars Stan Lee lives up to his legendary status., 29 Jun 2014
This is a great book and one that really knows exactly what it's talking about. Coming from the legendary Stan 'the man' Lee you expect someone who knows a thing or two (hundred) about how to write a comic. He doesn't let you down. This book is informative, readable and the visuals help the book progress without taking over the prose. This is a book that will help those writing comics as well as other similar writing endeavours. As a lecturer in creating graphic narratives this is book I will suggest to my learners.
