cheap, and does the job!
on 1 March 2013
As a cheap burglar-deterrent, i think these are great! They aren't loud enough to wake the neighbours, BUT you'll hear if a door gets opened at night, and the noise would certainly scare off an opportunistic burglar. Also they have a slow flashing light while on - so ask yourself, would you break into a door with a flashing light? - or would you move on to the next house?). Easy to fit (they come with cut-to-size double-sided sticky pads), takes 4 LR44 batteries (included with alarms, although one of ours had flat batteries on arrival - but packs of 10 Duracells available on Amazon for under a fiver).
On the downside, the on/off switch is under the battery cover, so you'll probably end up leaving the cover off - this makes them not really a full, total-security solution - but to stop someone nipping in your front door, grabbing a handbag or carkeys, and legging it.....i think they're a good compromise!
