This is a pacey, passionate gospel-centric resource! It is compellingly all about the healing and transformation of brokenness in lives and in the church community. As a fellow pastor, it is always easy to embrace what emerges from the earthiness and praxis of the local church, but this writing is a whole other league of quality and depth from what is in the printed press at present. Here Mike Wilkerson uses the story of the Exodus to both break and heal sinners in the name of Jesus.
We consciously and unwittingly establish idols on our own life path -- idols like substance abuse, pornography, gluttony, and rage. Redemption is not a step-oriented recovery book; it's story-oriented and Biblically rooted. It unfolds the back-story of redemption in Exodus to help Christians better understand how Christ redeems us from the slavery of abuse and addiction and restores us to our primary created purpose, the worship of God. Readers will marvel afresh in the reward of freedom is more than victory over a habitual sin or release from shame; it is satisfaction and rest in God himself. Freedom, truth and gospel hope beat in every page,.... I trust many more titles will follow from Mike in the years to come! Top Class!

M. Wilkerson has put together a brilliant book, which has clearly been thought through to help people encounter with God in a very personal and challenging way. I found it best to do it in a small group. Bizarrely, reading it on my own didn't have nearly the same impact as taking one chapter at a time and reading it in a small group. I know many people who have been impacted by this book, me included. A must for anyone wanting to disciple either men or women. Thank you Mike for all your hard work!
