I first saw the Black Spiders in December 2009. They were backing The Answer at the HMV Forum in London. I was so impressed that I ordered their EP "Cinco Hombres" as soon as I got home. This was followed by second EP called "No Goats In The Omen" which was every bit as good. By now I was complete hooked on this band, so you can imagine my delight when "Sons Of The North" was announced as a full length début album!

The CD arrived a couple of days ago and I was totally blown away - I have listened to it five times already! If you like classic Rock music you're going to love this. There really is not a duff track on it, which, for a first album, is really saying something.

ayer, put on your bestest headphones and wind up the volume as loud as you dare. You will not be disappointed, I promise!

I am looking forward to the next album already. The Black Spiders truly rock and will be going a long way.

Saw these at the Download Festival 2012. The music is immediate and accessible. Bought the album and I love it! Good vocal, catchy songs, fun! Rock to join in with! Put it on in your car, wind down the window and enjoy!

I first say these guys when they were supporting Airbourne on the UK leg of the 2010 tour, and later the same year, supporting airbourne again. These guys are amazing. Catch songs, and some real, old, hard rock.

What a band! Seen them live 3 times and was worried that their balls to the wall, 70s styling would be lost on their first full length release. How wrong was I? This CD is a maginificent debut, full of rock classics in the making. This is the Album Steve Marriot would have written if he was still with us. Buy it, love it, marry it. I will be consumating my realtionship with my copy later. Mother - fetch the Kleenex!

As a huge fan of the great rock/metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Metallica, Alice Cooper etc, I sometimes feel I'm a bit steeped in the past as most of the music on my iPod is from musicians that formed from the 1960's-1980's and are coming up to retirement, retired or dead.

I first read about Black Spiders in Classic Rock, but didn't really take too much notice. However this album caught my eye when browsing on Amazon. I read the excellent reviews and then had a listen on YouTube. What I heard was enough to download this album.

Well, suffice to say it blew me away. This album rocks from start to finish. Really well crafted songs, great riffs and varied. I can hear influences here, notably, Blood of Kings -Black Sabbath, Si El Diablo- Led Zeppelin (How Many More Times from Zep 1). There is a homage to Kiss in the faintly ridiculous, but catchy Kiss Tried To Kill Me. We have a touch of Southern Rock in St Peter.

Besides the above other great songs are Man's Ruin. Stay Down and What's Good Rock Without A Roll. But frankly there's not really a duff track at all.

All in all a first class debut album and British rock is well and truly alive.

Proper rock and roll. It'll make your foot tap and your face smile. Album of 2011 - not "so far" but "in total"...
