It's hard to believe some of the things you are able to eat when on a diet! This is my favourite low fat cooking book EVER. Cheap and cheerful and easy to use. You'll be amazed at how simple and tasty the recipes are, and how much of the stuff you already have in your cupboards. Highly recommended.

My fiance who is, to say the least, a bit of a mummy's boy (well fed to the point of bursting and yet the fussiest eater ever) is currently sat reading this book listing all of the things he will eat! It's worth mentioning that he is not a fan of health food. The main courses, particularly the meat and seafood dishes, look absolutely scrumptious. I'm a pasta-fiend myself and cannot wait to try them all out.

This book is one in the rising trend of diet but don't starve style books, which is really the only diet that can have lasting results in my opinion. I thoroughly recommend this book and also recommend Cook Yourself Thin: Quick and Easy as a companion to it.

I am a big fan of this series of little books from BBC Good Food magazine and this one is rapidly becoming one of my favourites. It contains imaginative but realistic recipes which are low in fat (and therefore reasonable on calories too), which is great if you are trying to lose weight or stick to a low fat diet for health reasons. The ingredients used are the sort of things I would have in my store cupboard anyway, nothing too exotic, and most of the recipes here are the sort of things I would cook for my family as well as for myself. Those I've tried so far have been really tasty and it hasn't felt like I've been depriving us of any flavour through "low fat" cooking rather than the "full-on" style of cuisine.
It is a real bonus with this entire series that the recipes are straightforward, broken down into three manageable steps and with a colour picture so you can see what the end result should look like. It is brilliant to enclose a full nutritional breakdown of a portion of each recipe too. You can then see how much fat, salt, etc you are consuming which is so useful for trying to eat more healthily.
Definitely recommended if you like the idea of eating healthily and cutting back on the calories without even noticing that you are cutting back!
By the way, I bought the Kindle version of this, and it is very useable with pictures etc included. They obviously appear as black and white on the Kindle itself, but if you want to see them in colour, then you can always download the "Kindle for pc" programme or take a look via the Kindle app on your smartphone if you have one.

The BBC GoodFood 101 series has hit the nail on the head with their low fat feasts, if you want a healthy alternative or want to change your meal choices completely you have a variety of ideas to choose from which are tasty and refreshing to the palette.

There are several plus points compared to other cookbooks, in terms of special equipment, you will only need a blender, grill/bbq (which could be disposable...., cooker, fridge, knives, and a pot and pan set. For ingredients, your local supermarket will have and should have at least 95% of what you're looking for and if not, your local oriental or Indian food store will have the rest. For every recipe there is a picture, showing you exactly what your meal could look like, again fantastic.

It also provides you with measurement conversions from metric to imperial, Australian and American. They have also converted gas and fan temperatures with a little description of what each temperature means, very handy.

Their meal options range consists of starters and light meals, pasta, rice and noodles, meat, fish & seafood, veggie-friendly, and desserts. Believe me whatever types of food that you are into the low fat feasts food has covered it, from vegetable and/or chicken stir fries, Toad in the hole to maple and orange glazed chicken to guilt free sticky toffee puds.

Well worth its value for money and its place in my kitchen, and like many of the other reviewers on here, I highly recommend that you purchase this item.

I brought this recently after we decided to eat more healthily. There are good photos of each dish which is useful so you can tell what it is supposed to look like!. The instructions are easy to follow and so far I have been pleased with the results. The only thing that I can point out is that the times for both preparing and cooking the meal tend to be a bit on the high side.

Having bought a couple of other books in this series I had no hesitation buying again. The recipes are straight forward with no complicated ingredients to buy that you've never heard of and the end result is always really tasty!
I particularly like that they list the calorific value of every dish too. All round a great little book that's worth a buy.

I bought this book plus the 'More Low Fat Feasts' and the 'Healthy Eats' book about 3 weeks ago and since then I don't think we've eaten the same thing twice! I'm having so much fun cooking something new and LOW FAT every day! And my husband, thank goodness, is a very willing guinea pig... There's a colour photograph next to all of the very easy to follow recipes and explanations which don't require spending a fortune on 'new' foods. Lots of vegetarian food, fish, meat, poultry, soups, desserts and starters, all with a nutritional breakdown - so you know exactly what you're eating! And many of the recipes I've tried so far I've adapted (swapped a couple of ingredients,) depending on what I've had available. I've even done a dinner party and the response to the food was very positive - and no leftovers! I get really bored cooking the same things over and over, these books have really perked up my cuisine!

I am a huge fan of the BBC GoodFood 101-series. I'm always at their website looking for new recipes and have discovered many new favorites. I was very pleased to find out there were books as well. The size of the book is small and handy so I carry mine around all the time, perfect for shopping! Most of the recipes contain basic ingredients, so I usually find what I need in my local groceries store. I have tried about 1/3 of the recipes and most of them were a huge success. This is a low-fat recipes edition and I love that it contains nutrional value of every meal.
Also there's a color photograph of every dish and it is very similar to the actual result, you know you've done everything right when it is similar to the photo.
It's cheap as well, so I will definitely buy more of the books in the BBC GoodFood series. Highly recommended!

I must admit i have been using this recipe book for 3 days now and already lost 3 pounds? Im not overweight ive just gone a bit rounder round the edges! This book helps me in the fact that dinner was my biggest downfall where i would eat the most calories out of all my meals i have had that day but there are only a few that i actually like, so if you are fussy like me then you may not like this book.

This is a fantastic recipe book if you enjoy your food but want to eat healthily and lose some weight. In fact, I would cook many of the dishes if I was not on a diet. The recipes are simple to follow and the ones that I have tried have been delicious. I have never enjoyed healthy/diet food as much, and yes combined with some exercise, the weight is coming off!
