5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that out of all of the Night World books so far Huntress is the best. It's full of action and romance. It's full of vampires werewolves etc so if you like that sorta thing this book is definately for you. It keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what will happen to Jez and Morgead...

3.0 out of 5 stars Smith Is In An Enjoyable Rut
Smith is a very interesting author. She uses the old plots of the romantic comedies of the 1940s and 50s to make modern novels for Young Adults. In essence they usually follow this pattern: they meet, they fight, they fall in love, and they kiss. Simple, easy, and when you throw in a few vampires it's all the more enjoyable. Smith is the type of author best suited for...

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!!!!!!!!, 7 May 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress (Night World) (Paperback)
This is among the best of the series so far, at least the Top 3, along with DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS and THE CHOSEN. I loved Jez's first appearance and hope to see more of her in later books, along with Morgead. What a choice for the first Wild Power to be found: a half-vampire!!!!!!!!! This is the only one I always keep on my bedside table and read nightly. And what about that prophecy:
In blue fire, the final darkness is banished. In blood, the final price is paid.
Four to stand between the light and the shadow, Four of blue fire, power in their blood. Born in the year of the blind Maiden's vision; Four less one and darkness triumphs.
One from the land of kings long forgotten; One from the hearth which still holds the spark; One from the Day World where two eyes are watching; One from the twilight to be one with the dark.
Wow! And speaking of which, when are we ever going to find out who the last Wild Power is? I'm about going crazy. Okay, sum it all up: READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In essence they usually follow this pattern: they meet, they fight, they fall in love, and they kiss. Simple, easy, and when you throw in a few vampires it's all the more enjoyable. Smith is the type of author best suited for children with maturity levels beyond "The Babysitter's Club" but not quite ready for the seriousness or scariness of Anne Rice and Stephen King. This novel starts out promising with a great bad boy hero, Morgead. He's got the black leather jacket, the motorcycle, and the hair; let's face it we all love those bad boys. Now, enter Jez, the heroine, with some unique genetic make-up (she's half human and half vampire). Unfortunately that's about the only exciting thing about her character. Jez spends most of the novel agonizing about what will happen when Morgead finds out she's half human. When the time comes for this e

5.0 out of 5 stars L J wraps you up in an other world and doesnt let go, 4 Jan 2000
By A Customer
i have read nearly all of her work and this one is deffenitly my favorite(all right it ties with secret circle trilogy). i have read it about 6 times and know the story back to front.
Jez is a sassy vamp who gets a bit of a shock. she thinks shes top of the food chain and the most important vamp around, being a redfern and all, untill she has a bit of a flash back.
Morgead is one of jezs oldest companions, they have had a love hate relashonship all there lives, according to jez more hate than love, but morgead says diferently.
Hugh is an old soul and a meber of circle daybreak. his fellings for jez are uncertain as are hers for him.
jez and morgead are leaders of a gang of forgotten vampires made up Raven, Thistle, Val, Peirceall as different as can be ecept for there love for the hunt and there want to have fun Jez thinks this is where she belongs but is she right.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good book, 30 Aug 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress (Night World) (Paperback)
I liked this book, and the new apocalypse plot is an interesting diversion. The soulmate idea was getting a little old . . . especially because Jez and Morgead had the same sort of connection as Cassie and Adam (characters from The Secret Circle, another series from the same author). I enjoy this whole series immensely, however, two things continue to annoy me: No word as of yet from Ash and Mary-Lynnette, who should have gotten together last month, and this entire series has focus on nothing but vampires and witches. For the first series by L.J. Smith where ALL of these types of creatures exist, (vampires, witches, shapeshifters, werewolves, ect.) it surprises me that she has not written about anything but those two forms of Night World inhabitants. I'm ready for some shapeshifters! In conclusion, this WAS a good book, and the rest of the Night World series follows suit. Read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book was one of L.J.'s best ever !, 27 Sep 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress (Night World) (Paperback)
Okay , now I absolutly loved Huntress I have been reading L.J. Smith's books now for about one year and this is the best one since Daughters of Darkness ( which I re-read like 7 times ) . The elements that make this book the most exciting are that you could never guess what the plot was or how it ended . The charaters where creative and real , even the conflicts and resolutions that L.J. creates for us seem real in a way , because life never leads you on the stright and easy paths . There are always bumps , hills , and even mountians in life to challange , confuse , and test you . This is the world that L.J. gives you in this story along with the romance and adventure that we all dream of and want in our everyday lives . This book was one of L.J.'s all time best ever and anyone who has ever felt ashamed of thier family or themselves would deffintly bennifit from this book .

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good book by a GREAT author!!, 10 Sep 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress (Night World) (Paperback)
I love all of LJ Smith's books, and I was very glad to see that this one followed in the footsteps of the other books in the Nightworld series. I, unlike some other people who have written reviews, think that the soulmate principle is an excellent and most crucial part of the book. In this book, I kept expecting Jez to find out that she was maybe 1/2 witch instead of human, which would make her situation more easy and which would create an interesting base for possible upcoming books with her character in it. But this book was great anyway. It was touching, with a great plot and plenty of twists, with that perfect ammount of romance added in. I hope LJ Smith keeps doing what she's doing, and I can't wait for the next book she writes. I'm hoping for a book where some of the characters from previous books are used, like James and Poppy, Ash, and Quinn in particular.

5.0 out of 5 stars "faith" with out fear, 5 Jun 2000
By A Customer
I love night world!(have a look at all the other reviews of night worlds an you will understand) jez is a "part" of the family that is at the top of the food chane the Redferns(ash, james, quinn, hunter, delos ETC.)or so she thinks...she finds out shes half human and that she doesnt have to take blood to survive so to put it bluntly she doesnt. She leavs her gang(the young rejects of the night world)and goes to live with her human Aunt. She soon joins circl daybreak(who basicly want vamps and humans to dance around and drink coke)and turns into a Buffy wanabee.this is fine untill her "friend" Hugh(old sole)tells her she has to go back to her old gang to save the world(find the first wild power)this brings her back to Morged(not quite as loved by me as Ash)little does she know hes just more as a love/hete person hes her sole mate . FAITH.

5.0 out of 5 stars IT IS A FAB BOOK!!!, 3 April 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Huntress (Night World) (Paperback)
I thought the book was ab fab. Jez is a fiery ruthless gang leader of the vamps but when she figure out she's half human...ouch...she leaves everyone including Morgead (how could she do that) and she becomes a vamp hunter and decided that is how she is to live her life. BUT life is a funny thing. In order to save us poor humans she has to go back to her old gang and Morgead (YES). I won't tell you what happens because YOU have to read it for your selves...By the way for all you people who are getting tired of the soulmate principle there is only one thing for me to say .... GET A LIFE. INCASE YOU DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THAT IS WHAT THE AUTHOR IS TRYING TO STRESSSSSSS. DUH"!!. And I would just like to say thank you for reading my review. bye....p.s if anyone wants to chat do E-mail me i would love to hear from you. bye
