Interesting but slightly dissappointing,
This review is from: The Diary of a Frugal Family (Kindle Edition)
This is interesting reading but not as many new ideas as I had hoped. I expected this to be weekly delivery but turns out to be monthly - the description doesn't make this clear, and the first page starts with "This week's meal plan" - what happened to the weeks in between?Nicely written and witty, will continue the subscription for now.

Not so frugal!!,

I have to say I really wasn't as impressed with this as other reviewers - maybe I am already rather frugal!! A lot of what was in it appeared to me to be just basic common sense regarding cutting back on meals and shopping when deals are on etc.I actually don't feel that they lead that frugal a life - new replacement mobile phone for a childs 10th birthday? I have problems with 10 year olds having a mobile but this young lassie is obviously on an upgrade already! They also have more days out and holidays than I do and the icing on the cake for me came this week when Mrs Frugal talked about eating from the store cupboard so they have more money for treats! many people are eating from the store cupboard so they can pay the electric bill!! Just to put this rant in perspective I myself am a working mother with children aged 11 and 9 with a full time working husband so a very similar family set up and I was looking forward to learning something here beyond common sense. |
