l picked up this book at my brother's house and l am glad l did. Oliver makes a lot of good sense and uses humour to talk about every day lives and challenges and ways to look at them. l am looking forward to reading his latest book soon.

Engaging and funny. Burkeman's dry wit is perfect for an analysis of the self-help genre. This book stabs a pin into the inflated nonsense, whilst plucking out interesting bits of advice and wisdom for our enjoyment. Highly recommended.

Just the right book for sceptics about self-help gurus, who nevertheless think there must be some useful stuff out there, and who admit that they could do with a few new ideas. Nice short sections to digest. And he's very funny.

Wonderfully written, frequently making me laugh out loud. The author uses an extensive catalogue of resources and presents ideas without preaching. I loved how Burkeman presented the "anti secret" showing there is no right way of doing things. In the same spirit he quotes a Japanese psychologist and says it's ok to give up and just be the most imperfect person you can be.

I think this book is a liberating read, offering a lot of food for thought. It delivers what it modestly promises: helps you to be slightly happier and get a bit more done.

Enjoy

I really liked the author's natural tone and the readability of this book. The content is broken down into bite size chapters, perfect for bedtime reading. Informative too!

Highly recommended. Funny, grounded and most importantly, a sensible filtering of the wheat from the chaff in the Personal Growth field.
