Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
You may be fooled into believing that all laser printers, be at the office or library, are large and cumbersome machines reserved for more professional activities. The Canon i-SENSYS (Its ok, I don't get it either...) aims to wave away such perceptions by providing many of the excellent attributes that laser printers offer, but all at a very fair price.

Sure enough, this is still twice the price of the average 'inkjet' printer that can boast almost as much as being a coffee maker, but the compromises are always their. As many will know from their own experiences, cheap-end inkjet printers have the additional costs of small ink cartridges that barely hold 15ml of liquid (a complete scandal in itself) and poor quality features.

Consider that you only print professional documents, either for a business or for other work related tasks, and you can do no wrong with a product such as this. The final results are beautiful, with crisp, clear text that puts inkjet printers to shame. I shouldn't need to mention the speed this printer operates at, but its worth noting that while pages do print off quicker, these machines do rely on being left in a 'Sleep Mode' so they can resume quicker, and this in turn consumes more electricity than inkjet printers.

The toner (laser-lingo for ink) has an estimated life-span of 5 years, which is surely very appealing to anyone...

No Mac OS software or drivers included on disc, but then the box is so consumed with useless graphics and information (like most computer products) that I can understand people having compatibility issues.

I should also mention, since it is not clearly displayed, that this printer is indeed Black and White only. Its primary purpose is to print textual documents.

This printer for black and white printing is excellent it is faster and quieter than my Canon Pixma MG5350 now reserved for colour photographs only. I like the double sided printing feature which I required. I am having difficulty in printing DL envelopes, I have not yet worked out which way up and which way round they need to be inserted to get the correct result. Unfortunately the cartridges are rather expensive but buying a Canon cartridge it is possible to return the empty cartridge and packing free of charge.

Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent printer and great value for money. But the sales material from Canon says it "automatically prints double-sided" and it does, but only for A4 paper. As I was looking for double-sided printing for A5 paper as well, this was a bit of a let-down, but I now have a workaround using another printer.
Also, no printer lead was supplied.
Great printer, easy to set up and produces high quality prints.

This is my second printer and It is so easy to setup and use. It uses Cartridge 726 which allow you to print 2100 pages(the starter cartridge could print 700 pages). Great print quality as other Canon makes it a no-brainer.

The printer is described as Mac compatible - simply it is not in the absence of a manual which Canon have been unable to provide.
If it was working properly there are a number of issues;
It is supplied with a starter cartridge with no indication of how many sheets this will produce, so if you buy add in the price of a cartridge.
Although the footprint is small this can only be achieved by taking out the paper and closing the printer front.
Service from Canon has been dismal
Good points, yes it has the on-off switch on the front where it is accessible, unlike Lexmark who put theirs on the back
Verdict - in the process of being returned

Very compact, quick printing and good quality. Easy to set up, using in an office environment and copes very well. It has the ability to print both sides of the page which is done automatically, without having to re-feed. Has two trays for different papers....so has everything I need.

Good Value For Money am very happy with my purchase
