This is just amazingly handy. It's so easy to set up, it has no buttons at all to fiddle with and simply plugs in. Not only does it tell you who's ringing/who last rang you, which is what I wanted it for, it also tells you if you have a message on BT1571, which is also really useful as I often forget to check, but as it flashes a red light at you, you can't fail to notice. Feels reasonably solid and well made, not flimsy. What's not to like?!

I found this ideal as a Caller Number Display, enabling me to chose wether to answer the call or not.

I found that the answering service kept providing the annoying same mobile number message each day, until I switched it off. There's also the possibilty that the answering service may well create problems, if you have a service provided by a different service.

It would be much better being described as a caller display/caller screener, the main reason I purchased this item in the first place, and in that context I found it ideally suited to it's purpose.

I wanted something which would show me the number of the person who is calling as my phone upstairs doesn't display callers numbers. This little unit does just that. I am with Talk Talk and it works with them. The only thing which would have been nice was the ability to see more than just the number of the most recent caller but for me it's not the end of the world that it doesn't.

Bought this for my elderly father in law, he was getting lots of unwanted calls, his phone is a special amplified version with mo display, so now he can see who is calling. Great value for money and quick delivery.

Works a treat, but beware the 3 x AAA batteries soon get low as the display it lit all the timer.
I purchased a 6v dc power unit which replaces the battery, now I dont have to worry

..this does what it says but just be aware that all it does is display the number. So unless you have a photographic memory you won't know who is ringing you. I didn't realise this so just to stop anyone else buying it if that's not what you want.

Otherwise, as long as you subscribe to caller ID it works straight out of the box (n/b it takes about five minutes for some reason so if someone rings immediately and no number is displayed do not panic).

It takes AAA batteries (not supplied) and there is no instruction leaflet with it. And you can't hang it on the wall. Just in case anyone wondered.

This unit will not function unless you subscribe to BT Privacy at home and caller display.
Calls will then be displayed automatically on your handset if it’s a fairly recent model so I don’t see the use of this item.

The seller hussain742 (a name that immediately inspires confidence) is misleading buyers by not mentioning the need to contact BT and pay them £1.70 a month or renew your telephone contract for one year in which case it’s free for one year.

I waited almost two weeks for the BT call reminder, I plugged it in but of course it didn’t work.

On the packaging it says:
“Includes 3 months subscription to the Display Select Service. To register see back page of the user guide”.

The only problem is there was no user guide in the box, so I was in the dark until I called BT to find out more, and subscribe to the BT service which is a better deal than three months free subscription.

I contacted Amazon who asked hussain742 to send me the user guide, so far nothing.

If from tomorrow the caller’s number registers on our phone, I repeat I don’t see the use of this piece of equipment.

This is a remarkable little device and is real value for money.

Installation is simplicity itself and only takes a moment. There are no instructions provided (or needed) and a sticker on the box clearly states that you should contact your telephone provider as you need to have Caller ID active on your line.

The device does not block unwanted calls but it has a clear display showing the number of your caller or if the call is "International" (more often than not a call centre) or "Number withheld," leaving you the choice of whether to answer or ignore.

A very useful feature is that the Call Reminder displays the last number that called you. This comes into its own when the phone rings as you are hanging out the washing or in the bath. There is a New Message alert but so far nobody has left me any!

The unit requires three AAA batteries (not included with mine.)

Tremendously useful and highly recommend.

My elderly aunt wanted a replacement, after her old one stopped working. It was easy for her to set up and it works a treat. It's much better than the one she previously had.
