this game i think is not as good as the others the fact that you cant duel wield the guns is most annoying and makes it much harder but other than that the game lets you play it from all the squad wich i don't like personally i like to enjoy the story from one perpective not from lots but thats just me other than that the game turned up in good condition and in good time

Halo 3 ODST's main story line is great, it's intresting, you get a lot of weapons to use, you play as different characters and most importantly you don't play as a spartan. You wonder arround a big city investigating the place at night trying to find the rest of your squad.

The gameplay is intense, puts you on the spot and brings you back to the fear and excitement of Halo: Combat Evolved! If you love halo, try it and if you don't, it's a MUST get!

If you enjoyed the Halo series so far, then you should love this game. Halo 3: ODST is set in the Halo timeframe about halfway through Halo 2's story. How does this work out? You aren't the 7 foot tall cyborg Master Chief but instead play as a member of a crack Orbital Drop Shock Trooper team. It's the team itself that is the star of the game - if you ever watched Firefly or Serenity you'll recognise some of the voices - as they all have back-stories that will pull you in, and their interplay is comedy gold.

The gameplay is nothing different from other Halo games, but if you haven't played them before then it's your standard first-person-shooter but well-polished. The addition is the visor your trooper wears, highlighting enemies and points of interest in the dark. Also, with not being a metal-man, you will find small encounters with the Covenant aliens a harder firefight which will require a more tactical approach.

I won't go into it much more. My bottom line: this is the best Halo game I have played, and one of the best shooters. It adds more to the Halo universe, and takes you out of the silent boots of Master Chief and places you in those of an ODST, one that you'll care more about. You want to find out what happened to your team, you want to help them finish their mission, and you won't be the superhero; you are a trooper who is part well-trained and part lucky as hell. It's Halo for the person who wants a more realistic experience. If you only buy one Halo game, get this one.

Loved the game, played it several times now, brilliant combat, nothing compares to it but needs to be played on a one of the harder settings. only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that it could have been longer, but you can get it cheap now so its well worth getting !!

What a strange HALO game...
I liked the idea of how you are investigating what has happened... and the missions when you get to them are fun.. but the endless marching between them is so very dull... and then just when you think its going to get good.. its already over.. but wait its not over yet.. according to online there are two more levels.. hang on why don't they work for me.. oh i didn't do the first set of missions in the right order.. so why did the developers even give me a choice if it breaks the game afterwards... so annoying..

A well made game that is centred on a regular (ODST) soldier as opposed to the super human Master Chief (or any other Spartan).

The game is more free-form and allows for exploration and multiple routes to complete objectives. There investigative aspect also is a welcomed tangent to the usual Halo format.

Subtlely different but not so far removed that you feel you're playing something totally unfamilar.
