4.0 out of 5 stars Classic post-apocalyptic story
In Luminous and Ominous Noah Mullette-Gillman has put together a very enjoyable and absorbing post-apocalyptic novel. What we witness is a very human and believable slow and sloppy slide into disaster as the authorities bicker and fail to deal with an alien "invasion" of Earth and an ordinary man tries to do his best to help a few friends and acquaintances. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all!
Im finding with the Kindle, that I'm trying a lot of books that I probably wouldnt of bothered with in the past. This was one of them, but once again I was surprised with how much i enjoyed it. Certainly worth looking at.

This review is from: Luminous and Ominous (Kindle Edition)
In Luminous and Ominous Noah Mullette-Gillman has put together a very enjoyable and absorbing post-apocalyptic novel. What we witness is a very human and believable slow and sloppy slide into disaster as the authorities bicker and fail to deal with an alien "invasion" of Earth and an ordinary man tries to do his best to help a few friends and acquaintances. The author clearly understands the weakness and fallibility of human nature even when making the best efforts in the face of adversity. The specifics of the invasion of Earth are described in fascinating detail and we see a takeover which has all the seductive charms of the apple tree in the Garden of Eden - as well as all the dangers. Whilst the first half of the book is good, the second half is excellent as we take in a broader view of the changed world. Noah Mullette-Gillman writes with tenderness, humour and intensity - but most importantly, with an understanding of ordinary humanity.
