4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Take on the Genre
A couple of spoilers ahead...

An interesting take on the zombie apocalypse with a few differences to set it apart from the average story (differences like a bite doesn't necessarily 'turn' the victim into a zombie; and the inclusion of an alien menace makes a nice twist at the end I feel).

Well written and good characterisation of the protagonist,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun as far as it goes
Dead Earth: The Green Dawn is a rather good if not wholly original zombie story. It fails as a stand alone novella as it reads like the opening few chapters of a longer book. It is a taster of work to come and as such it would be rather irritating to pay for it.

Well written and good characterisation of the protagonist, setting up a good background for the full length novel Dead Earth: The Vengeance Road. A couple of things in the story were reminiscent of Stephen King's "The Stand", especially the shared dreams between characters.

One of the better short stories I've read in this genre.

Once I started reading had to continue until the end. Different tilt on the zombie theme which made it more interesting.

Who can resist a good Zombie Apocolyspe? Not me, thats for sure. Whether this will become a classic piece of literature, is not the point. I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't wait to read the next page. The ending was a bit weak, but I suppose there's going to be a sequel, which will pick up where this left off.

A small town with a BIG problem.

This is well written with a good explanation for the zombies even if the ending does feel a little rushed. However it is the first part of series and perhaps should be judged on the length.

Without giving away spoilers. It is the story of a small town deputy at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse.
