I ordered this on a Friday evening and it was delivered on the following Tuesday, as usual Amazon delivered quickly, indeed i love that about Amazon.

I needed this for a Panasonic SD-600 camcorder, i tried to find a 46mm version but could only see it available in 49mm size, thus i bought a stepup 46mm to 49mm adaptor, that worked like a charm and i was able to place this B+W circular polarizing filter on to that, the reason i bought this particular brand is because i can add a lens cap to this one, anyway it looks like quality glass to me and the build quality seems impressive, the packaging was just right and it works like a charm.

You can use this at night to reduce flares from streetlights or shoot through glass without reflections as well as into water should you wish to shoot fish, it adds a real nice blue look to the sky and brings out the clouds, another use i have used it for is timelapse photography, i shot a clock which has a glass front and the timelapse effect is great, but the point is that without the filter i got reflections off the glass of the clock, with the filter i can really get a much better shot, i do recommend this for camcorders and normal still photography cameras.

I only knock 1 star off because although i consider it an excellent product it is not cheap and i have researched these products and there are some ( albeit ) considerably higher priced products that can do a slightly better job, this is the most i can afford to pay though thus 4 stars for a very good product.

:EDIT: I note the price is now higher than what i paid, when i bought it the product was selling for around £80.

Loving these slimline filters by B+W. Very well built and the polarizer is really putting the blue back in the sky. Pretty much an essential piece of kit if your photographing outdoors.

Very well made filter with a very smooth action. I haven't been able to thoroughly check the polarising action yet as the weather has been too dull but it seemed to enhance the predominantly grey sky. Doesn't cause any noticeable vignetting on my 35mm lens, but this is the widest lens I have for this filter size.

B+W filters with XSDP mounts are my favourite filters, thin easy to attach and remove and allow a second filter to be attached close to the first
