Build Quality - All metal design only the knobs are heavy plastic and protected from your feet by a stainless steel bar. Should be no issues here.

Sound - Amazing. I was genuinely shocked just how good the sounds coming from this pedal are. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to use it in a live gig as the quality is outstanding. I play everything from heavy metal to blues and pop and they are all catered for with top quality tone. The amazing thing for me coming from cheaper digital effects is how responsive the tones are to changes in playing style, for example many of the tube amp settings can be picked or lightly strummed for a clean tone and gain an overdrive just by increasing the attack of the pick just like an actual amp would. Presets vary from incredible to pretty useless but are more just to show what the unit can achieve.

The downsides are perhaps the complexity, you can alter parameters that i hadn't even considered such as virtual mic position on the virtual cab you have connected to the virtual amp or the amount of valve preamp involved even transformer hum. The advanced manual is written in bullet form and is over 80 a4 pages and that tells you just how much can be done. Whilst it is a bit daunting its easy enough to adjust basic settings to get good sounds and there is plenty of places to download patches made by others. I would suggest the use of a pc for patch editing and organizing as the interface is better than just using the pedal.

I got this on offer so keep an eye out for price if you can get it sub £300 do it as at that price point the competition doesn't come close, At £360 its still a great piece of equipment and having used it for a few days i'm struggling to think of a reason why you would need anything else.

One word of caution is that the amp you use will colour the tone so avoid anything that already has built in amp modelling. The amp modelling on the pedal can be turned off but is likely to be far superior to inbuilt modelling found in budget amps. I am running it through a fender 212r 100w. Great solid state amp, cheap, loud and with a very clean channel making it the ideal partner. Otherwise stick to using it straight to pa for the truest tones.
