Bought this as i'm a Norman Reedus fan, but serioulsy wished i'd not bothered. It definately was not sick & twisted enough for a horror!

2.0 out of 5 stars I think I missed something, 23 July 2012
This review is from: Red Canyon [DVD] (DVD)
Before I get to the story, the biggest problem with this film is that you just don't care about any of the characters. The only interesting people involved are the guy who runs Luna Mesa and Mac (played by the always awesome Norman Reedus) The story line is confusing and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm sure it would be sick and twisted if I'd actually understood it. Too many plot threads were tangled up in each other, and I wasn't sure of what was going on. And I didn't much care either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Confused - and confusing - little film, 28 April 2011

This seems to be trying to set itself up as a horror film - gas masked killer, 'teens' in peril, etc - but, in reality, that's not what it's about at all. When you finally realise what's happening, it makes you feel a little grubby and the good performance by Lakin doesn't help with that, because the actress really seems to suffer.

Once you get to the plot twist, though, the whole thing falls apart because there's absolutely no reason for the lead character to have taken his friends there, no reason for them to have been killed and no reason for the build-up.

A film of two personalities - Wolf-Creek-wannabe and incest-movie-of-the-week - neither works.
