The glowing reviews of this book, and the fact that I have loved all of Tess Stimson's novels, led me to order this from Amazon. If you are a fan, be warned, this is quite a different book. It is not a work of fiction but a kind of self-help/relationship manual for people who believe that all men are unfaithful or that their own partner is being unfaithful. The best parts of the book are where she is talking about her own experiences of being on both sides of the fence, i.e. a mistress and a cuckolded wife. She does also have some meaningful things to say about marriage i.e. that it is hard work and you cannot expect to glide through any long-term relationship without difficult patches. However she comes across as a woman with a very old fashioned view of life and relationships that I found hard to warm to - a pair of diamond earrings is no cure for a broken heart no matter how many carats! The main thrust of her relationship advice is to make sure you never refuse your partner sex and initiate it as often as possible, which I find simplistic and lacking in realism. It is a fun enough read though and probably does have some practical tips if you genuinely fear your partner is being unfaithful and don't know what to do.

Is your marriage boring? are you resentful of your busband? or perhaps you have a very happy marriage? Either way, this book is a MUST READ! it opens your eyes as to how and why couples cheat and get divorced. She has a very unique style of writing. Very much to the point, open, honest and perhaps a bit rude. But the rudeness is hillarious and very truthful. We all think like she writes, but we just don't dare to speak that way in public. It will help you save a marriage that may be failing, or it will help you have a fail safe mechanism for your happy marriage. It will show you how you can get your husband to fix that leaking sink that has taken him 6 months not to do, lol...how not treat men for granted as there is always another hawk out there waiting to pounce. It is comical, intelligent, educational, an eye opener! Briliant, just brilliant!.

A useful library for any relationship wheather you think he's straying or not. I've been one of the lucky ones who's found out, sorted out and are still together. This has a lot every woman should take on board in her relationship, one in every four men will stray at somepoint at least once, and for the unlucky few many times. Hearing what she has to say could save you a lot of heartache.

Think while all of this book may not be relevant reading I have to say the one tip I picked up from it was well worth the improvement in any relationship. Each person who reads it will take something different from it and each one may only make a small change in their relationship that will be well worth the money and time spent on buying it.

This book has taught me so much about my recent experience and how my reactions have been so wrong! I'm rewriting my future as I write this! Thanks Tess. I want to hate her for being a mistress before, but I appreciate her remorse and candour! Very realistic, no frills advice!

Interesting to a point - some of the advice is good but not always easy to accomplish.
Does have a bit of a mood lifting factor when one is in this unenviable position. Worth reading though.

I was lucky enough to be given an copy of this book by a friend from the UK, and it is marvelous. The author really knows her material, and imparts her invaluable knowledge to the rest of us in a detailed but fun manner. It also appeals to my husband as much as it does to me - he stole it and devoured it in an afternoon. Looking for tips himself, perhaps?
