This box set represents very good value for money. True, it is dated, but how could it be anything less, as the fashions, hair styles and now politically incorrect sexist innuendos flow with gay abandon. It was good to rekindle my distant memories with so many of my teenage crushes. There are so many young aspiring actors and actresses on show here, too many to mention (whatever happened to them all). So, back to the films. There are all 4 here, all more or less following exactly the same formula. If you like this sort of thing or can view it on a very superficial level (as these were never meant to be taken seriously), then it's a good light-hearted comedy collection. But if you question its realism or are in any way offended by this type of humour, avoid viewing this at all costs - for it is sure to offend.

"This is your life ..Timmy Lea" sung by Sue Cheyenne kicked off the first Confession film in a jaunty fashion that continued throughout the series.Robin Askwith is the erstwhile Timmy ably supported in his comedy shenanigans by scheming brother-in-law Sid Noggett(Tony Booth).A huge part of the appeal of these films apart from the capable leads are the cameos, the Lea family themselves Bill Maynard,Sheila White,Dandy Nichols/Doris Hare to the many many stars of the small screen at the time like Peter Jones,John Le Mesurier,Ian Lavender,Bill Pertwee,Irene Handl etc..etc Theres always someone you'll recognize.

The other reason would be of course the girls..Linda Hayden,Carol Hawkins,Lynda Bellingham,Sue Longhurst to name but a few. Many more actresses featured in the series are well utilized in the British sex comedy genre throughout it's entire run.

This complete collection four film set from Columbia gives us nice looking clean prints of the films,no issues here! Also present are subtitles for each film. This is the limit of the extra material! It would have been nice to have a few commentaries from cast members or a retrospective featurette as the series was extremely successful at the 70's boxoffice and very well traveled in other territories ...i kind of wish these films would be licensed out to a company like Arrow or Nucleus Films which would probably guarantee some interesting extra material.

Confessions of a window cleaner was my very first X film I went to see. Reminds me of the good old days. These films are silly funny and stupid all at the same time. Loved the clothes and old cars, its nice to see how the 1970's was again.

Robin Askwith is s British-born actor who's film career started in the 1970's without 'polical correctness' having existed.

These films are funny in a fun way, but tell a story of a dffering emerging generation in England at the time. This was England in the glory years.

Great if you want an afternoon of bawdy fun whilst not having to concentrate very hard. The films are rubbish really but great fun and a nice trip down memory lane - highly recommended for a cheap laugh.

The films are a bit of nostalgia for me and just a bawdy Carry On Type movie . Interesting to see so many well known actresses who appear to have started their career taking their clothes off .

Reminds me of 'On The Buses' with lots of saucy goings-on.
Robin's no thespian, but a fair way to pass a rainy afternoon.
