Forged from the softer tones of the 21st century albums. The volcanic anger of the incipient years has cooled but never evaporated. Instead other textures have been explored. These songs have a narrative, less experimental than Nurse With Wound but not exactly punching the air with U2. Far too much depth and vision to be lumped with the sprawling mass of lumpen cries to stimulus and response. Here are two discs which are unashamedly elitist in conception and execution - requiring an openness to new sonic forms for immersion. However for initiates into the genre these are the entry points.
Ambient soft industrial capturing fleeting moments of peace rather than the perpetual clash of arc welders ringing metal to metal, but the angst is still in the air. It just needs to be imbibed rather than reacted to with fight, flight or fear.
The booklet attached to the CD explains how the music was created without being didactic, a problem often ensuing when Paul Morely or someone of that ilk is allowed to explain it.
The texts are sung in German and English allowing an entre into each kulture.
It plays gently in the background casting a soft amber light into the midnight rather than pumping adrenaline around the body in fits and busts of bristling anger.
Therefore recommended for its atmospheric delights.
