I'd been looking at black ceramic strap watches and then met an old acquaintance at a mutual friend's 50th and she had on a Chanel white ceramic which looked beautiful. Tragically for me, I'm not in the same financial league as my friend's husband so the search was on for something that looked as good but was a fraction of the price! This fits the bill perfectly. It's a stunning watch that has lots of bling but manages to remain tasteful. This was a gift that I chose for myself from my mother for my 50th birthday and I wanted something that would be a long-time memory/keepsake of the occasion, especially as my mother is now 80 and one can never be sure how much longer someone will be around once they hit that age. I bought a Gucci watch in 1999 on holiday in Barbados which I still love but as I've been wearing it every day ever since I just wanted a change. The two watches are totally different in style so I shall definitely be wearing both. Looking forward to wearing this watch in the summer when my arms are brown (fingers crossed that we get some sun in Cardiff this year!) and I'm wearing short sleeves. The pearly sheen of the strap and the sparkle from the crystals will look even better than they do now. It is a big watch but the detailing keeps it very feminine A couple of things that might impact on a buying decision: it is quite heavy, a lot heavier than my previous watch, but after wearing it round the house for a couple of hours I'm already used to it; it is impossible for me to read the date without my reading glasses but this isn't an issue for me but may be for others. I love it and, along with the Gucci, I can see both pieces being vintage in a few decades and items that can be gifted in a Will, if that's not being too morbid, to loved ones.
