I have never particularly liked Olivia Newton John...I enjoyed Grease, but that was about it. Anyway, I came across this on Spotify as a new release, and had nothing better to do so gave it a listen; I'm very glad I did. All I have to say is that there is some genuinely beautiful, heartfelt music on here. If I had to recommend some music to someone who wanted to connect with all that is good, this would be very high on the list.

After the 'success' of the original 'Grace And Gratitude' album in 2006, Olivia Newton-John announced her plan to record another 'healing' album. This hasn't happened as yet but dear Olivia has revamped G&G for 2010!

What this actually means is that she's re-recorded a few tracks and added a new song, 'Help Me To Heal', a rather weak, faux-gospel ballad that she sounds a little uncomfortable on. To be honest, none of the re-recorded tracks add much to the originals and in some cases, like the duet with the ever-present Amy Sky, 'I Will Lift Up My Eyes', admittedly never one of the better songs, the results are worse.

I must admit I fail to see Olivia's obsession with Amy Sky, and I'm slightly unnerved by how on every subsequent O album she seems to have a bigger role. Her bland, bleating voice is better seldom heard, IMO, but you can't get shut of her on this and she quite spoiled Olivia's last studio effort, 'A Celebration In Song' as well.

Don't get me wrong, G&G is a good album, though you really HAVE to love Olivia's voice to appreciate it, but I see little point reissuing it. It didn't sell last time and with Olivia spending her time promoting ludicrously expensive 'health' fruit drinks, she hasn't much time to do the rounds with it this time either.

But, if you haven't got the original G&G, it's worth a listen. You'd have to be pretty soft-headed to take it's sentiments seriously, but it does sound nice...

One more thing, there's new cover art. Olivia's photoshop team seem to be obsessed with making her look like a 15 year old Cameron Diaz instead of the lovely 62 year old woman she is. I'm quite shocked also how Olivia has developed Julia Roberts lips... Surely no surgery was involved. Our girl is all natural of course! Must be all the Zamu!

Green Hill Productions presents "GRACE & GRATITUDE RENEWED" -- featuring Olivia Newton-John, with some of the best arrangements and performances out there in todays music --- Being a fan of this lady over the years will try to be as truthful and objective as possible about this touching release.

Olivia's voice is better than ever, with killer instrumental interludes between tracks --- The album flows like a morning spring brook moving from one song to the next with perfection of a steady stream --- Nothing can take away the talent and determination of this remarkable human being, this album certainly proves that.

Mr. Jim's Ratings:
Quality of Sound: 5 Stars
Performance: 5 Stars
Mixing: 5 Stars
Overall: 5 Stars [Arrangements & Song Selection]

Weaving a tapestry of musicality, her voice has this haunting even silky texture --- Each track brings you closer and closer to the healing powers of this musical journey --- Recommend this Highly, to all the fans in bringing our thinking into the millennium of going green and saving our planet, this is a great start --- Thank you Olivia for this message in song.

Total Time: 68 min on 22 Tracks ~ Green Hill ~ (09/14/2010)

A couple of years ago I got the original CD and I did not believe that it could be improved upon. But I was surprised that so many changes could add immensely to the production in total. This CD could be played quietly in the background while getting, or giving, a massage or any other healing treatment. And just as easily it could be played at loud volumes to bring out all the subtle harmony and brilliant instrumentation.

There is a trend for artists to take the idle route and re release their last album with a new track or two.I for one never thought Livvy would take that cop out route but alas she has, the new song " help me to heal " isn't that good and stands as the worst song on the album.I have been a fan of ON-J since 1971 and really miss the Olivia/john farrar years.Olivia treat your fans and give us what most of us want another album produced and co written by the guy that provided you with your greatest albums.I think that Olivia could have another hit album, but not without John.
