Should have realised it was in pounds and ounces as it was American. But a nice book other then that, good for ideas.

it's a great book and very easy to follow and read. It will not just give you recipes but teach you how to cook. A+

good just to browse through and easy to follow. Wouldn't be without it now. I'd recommend it to non vegans too.

I've recently gone vegan, and wanted some recipe ideas, but I found this too complex for the novice cook.

The Veganomicon is a tiny bit US-centric, but don't let that put you off at all - a couple of seconds looking up unfamiliar terms will help and the recipes are really inspired from cooking from all over the world. The vernacular style makes you feel like you're friends with the authors and it's the only cookbook I've ever taken to bed to read. This book isn't only a good cookbook, it's *the best* cookbook I own! Although it is a vegan book, it doesn't seem like it. It's not 'regular recipes with the animal bits taken out' but it rejoices in a new way of thinking about food and takes its influence from a huge number of cuisines. Sometimes being vegan is a compromise, but this book shows how positive and exciting being vegan can be, packing food full of goodness, flavour and happiness!

Even my non-vegan friends love these recipes and the Manzana Chile Verde with Skillet Cornbread is absolutely out of this world! My friend even commented "Wow, you've got really good in the kitchen lately"!

this book is basically all a vegan would need for a very very long time.
well, im not yet a vegan, im a vegetarian who doesnt east eggs
however, its basically pitched for any level of cook and even teaches you how to cook a vegetable.
the only tiny thing is that it isnt always easy to find some of the ingredients listed in london. for example vital wheat gluten or tempeh. but there are loads of substitutes and so many recipes that require easy ingredients that you would have in the cupboards aswell

its also written in a funny and jovial way. i would highly recommend this to anyone - even a carnivore!
