My husband needed a good sturdy and lightweight walking shoe for everyday use and this Karrimor Bodmin walking shoe fit the bill. It's a nice wide fit which was comfortable from the first use (no having to "wear" it in) and being "weathertite" an added extra, though of course as it is made from suede leather, there are sprays available to keep the shoe waterproof. This was bought on the basis of other reviews and it has so far lived up to all expectations of being a great everyday walking shoe, without paying a lot of money. Karrimor has always been a good name in outdoor gear and this shoe is a great example of this. Service from Amazon as always was excellent and the shoes arrived in record time!

chunky shoes,
This review is from: Karrimor Men's Bodmin Ii Low Weathertite Walking Shoe (Apparel)
These shoes are a bit chunky and the wide fitting is very wide. The tongue is too short and a little uncomfortable. Despite this the shoes are good value, and with an extra in-sole to take up the extra wide fit I can wear them all day, and if looks mean anything I should get several years wear from them

For general travelling and walking, these shoes are very comfortable. Over rough ground, they protected well from the trail underfoot. One point though, through experience I've found that Karrimor shoes tend to be somewhat small fitting and so I always send for a size larger than usual and this seems to suit fine. Very pleased with the shoes and I hope that they last as long as the last pair that I bought.

They Are Actually Waterproof!,

This review is from: Karrimor Men's Bodmin Ii Low Weathertite Walking Shoe (Apparel)
This is my fifth pair of walking shoes in the last few years. I walk on muddy paths in the woods every day and these shoes are by far the best that I have bought. Unlike most that simply claim to be waterproof these shoes actually ARE waterproof. My feet are bone dry everytime I wear them. Very comfy too.I'm going to buy another pair for casual wear around town.

Bought these at half price on offer. Second pair of these shoes I have purchased, comfortable, good grip, reasonably hard wearing, and waterproofing is effective. Will probably buy a third pair(at the right price)when these wear out.

WORE DOWN VERY QUICKLY,
By Portlander "CaR" (Ecosse) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Karrimor Men's Bodmin Ii Low Weathertite Walking Shoe (Apparel)
I purchased the shoes on 18th July 2012. I started to wear them a few days later. I wore them for 1 hour per day. By the 17th August the heel on the left shoe had worn through. To describe this shoe as a walking shoe is a mistake, in my humble opinion. It is not fit for purpose, in my opinion and I have returned the shoes today. If there was a 'no star' option, that would be my choice.

The shoes are extremely comfortable and appear to be well made with substantial sole. Proper lacing system making them easy to get good tension & easy to take off. Removable insole allowing the fitting of sports insole of your choice. Highly recommended.

Have had these for 3 months and the soles have worn out. They are very wide and comfortable. I walk about 6 miles a day and do not know if they should have lasted longer than they have. Any comments would be welcomed.

I am normally a size 9 but these were like boats with my feet floating around inside them - gave them to my son who is about a 10.5 and they fit well!
