The idea behind create is very good. We've seen a lot of creation games in the past few years with Little Big Planet and Scribblenaughts and now EA are in on the action. It's also the first game of its kind to appear on the 360. The problem I have with Create is that it's not as free as it tries to make you believe, basically you take part in puzzles and you have to complete these puzzles using items that you have collected through previous puzzles, they start out very easy and quickly become brain testers and some of the custom made content is brilliantly difficult but besides these puzzles the game does not allow you to bend or shape the worlds you are given to play with and this is a little infuriating. Sure you can decorate the various worlds and make them more unique and more personal but it's nothing like the huge creation system in Little Big Planet. Create feels like it's somewhere between Little Big Planet and Scribblenaughts and fails to find an identity, it is a budget game by today's standards and it has come out at the right time, just before Xmas. It's a great game to play with the family or with friends but this is not as free as it could have been.

A bit of a wasted opportunity this. Physics-based games are usually at the top of my list but Create feels quaint, old fashioned and extremely repetitive. Picking it up on the cheap, I found that it had a lot of elements in common with classic games on the PC like The Incredible Machine and Fantastic Contraption but really felt like a one trick pony. It also has an over-complicated user interface, meaning that younger players will be alienated by the fiddly controls and confusing front end.
Some good community stuff in it though, just a shame that more people didn't take it up. If it had been an XBLA download / PSN title for a tenner it would've been an essential purchase.

The Create game for the xbox 360 comes highly recommended for ALL aged groups. I originally purchased this game for my 11 year old after he asked for it for christmas and thinking that it would be a waste of money(as it starts from 3 years old)I purchased it anyway. Boy was I wrong this game caters for ALL LEVEL of users! Not only is it fun and creative it also involves problem solving and is very educational. With lots of fun things to learn, make and put into action before you can move onto the next level this game gets a 5 star from this family!!
