This review is from: Scarlatti : La Santissima Trinita (Audio CD)
"La Santissima Trinita" is one of Alessandro Scarlatti's later oratorios. The subject involves five allegorical characters, Fede (Faith), Amor divino (Divine love), Teologia (Theology), Infedelta (Doubt) and Tempo (Time) who debate the concept of the trinitarian God. Faith wins in the end.

In my experience anything by Fabio Biondi and Europa Galante is sure to be darn good, and this is no exception to that rule. His chosen vocalists are all excellent: soprano Roberta Invernizzi as Fede is one of my favourite performers of the moment (also check her out for example in some of Fabio Bonizzoni's Handel cantata discs), Veronique Gens (soprano, Amor divino), Vivica Genaux (mezzo, Teologia), Paul Agnew (tenor, Infedelta) and finally one performer I had not previously come across, Roberto Abbondanza (bass, Tempo) who fully justifies his place amongst such august company.

This only avoids getting five stars because, like all these Virgin classics reissues, there is no libretto included, just as wafer-thin booklet with brief notes.
