Poppier than totally authentic rockabilly but infernally catchy and danceable, this was long overdue on CD. I cherished my vinyl copy ever since the eighties. If you even remotely interested in this kind of music or half remember one of the hits, you are in for a treat. Rare extra tracks too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brings back some good memories, 12 Oct 2010

Had the original album back in 1980 when i was about 14ish. Haven't heard some of these songs for nearly 25 to 30 years and it brings back some good memories. Still sounds as good now as it did then, love Rockabilly Rebel, Hurricane and Buzz Buzz A Diddle It. Bought this mainly for the nostalgia trip but i have to admit i still really enjoy the songs from all those years ago.

If you like Rockabilly music, then this cd might be to your liking - British rock n roll at it's best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockabilly Heaven!, 22 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)

Matchbox's entry into the mainstream big time with their first Magnet album. Some of Steve Bloomfield's classics, "Rockabilly Rebel", "Hurricane" and "Everybody Needs A Little Love" plus some of the band's greats "Rockin' At The Ritz" and "Buzz, Buzz A Diddle It". An outstanding version of the Crickets "Tell Me How'" and I could go on about the rest of their great performances of the other songs; but I won't - you buy a copy of the album and enjoy it all for yourself. I could mention that the sleeve photographs capture the atmosphere of Matchbox's breakthrough to the big time, but I won't as I'm the one that took them!
