This item was purchased in January 2011. It is used 1 in 3 days to do a backup but once the disk space used reached 1.97gb it stopped working. Indigo Starfish direct you to Amazon. Amazon won't deal with it because it's over the 30 day period so now we have to go direct to Manufacturer to see if we can have a replacement. Beware if yours goes faulty after 30 days you may have problems and end up losing your money.

After a couple of month's use I've found this 16GB pen drive to be a good bit of kit. Formatted out of the box with FAT32 it works on Mac, Windows and Linux, so from a compatibility point of view its a winner. Of course FAT32 does limit the max file size to 4GB but as long as you under stand that your fine, if you need to have larger you'll need to re-format and that will effect it compatibility between OS types. Physically it's well put together feeling tough and the cap doesn't feel like it's going any ware soon.

Ok the biggest down size as mentioned before is the read a write performance, which in comparison to my old 2GB data traveller is a bit slower, but it's still acceptable at this price point so I can't really complain, if you need faster spend more or look at USB3.

I'm actually using it mainly on my Samsung LCD TV to watch down loaded movies and here it's great, 9 full length films and only 10GB used so a real thumbs up from me.

Works well enough, but I'm bitterly disappointed with the speed.

Over recent years, I've only purchased Bytestor USB flash drives.
I bought 5 or 6 of the 16gb drives, and they're fantastic, with a read speed of around 25 Mbyte per sec, and a write speed of around 15 Mbyte per sec.

So, I wanted more capacity, and therefore bought this Bytestor drive, which functions well enough. No problems with it in general, it's just very slow compared to other drives. The write speed is at best, a sad 5 Mbyte per sec, which is the worst part, as it takes ages to get files onto the thing. Read speeds are more usable, at around 15 Mbyte per sec, but still not as fast as before.

So if you want to store files on this drive, for reading on other devices, it's fine.... if you're constantly going to be adding and deleting many large files, be prepared for a wait!

A very quick, very slick, memory stick!

Finished in ruby red, this ByteStor product runs rings around my Kingston flash drives.

The top is a solid fit on the tail end to keep it safe and it is sculpted to be comfortable in your fingers when you insert or remove it.

Up top twice as fast as my previous manufacturer of choice, I will be purchasing ByteStor from now on.

A small lanyard or keyring loop would be nice. I had a spare one and it doesn't interfere with the cap on the tail end.

Nice to see a different colour. I have bought Blue and Pink in the past for work related events.

Delivered in plain wrapper, tear the strip and it drops out into your hand. No double wrapping or awkward blister pack to open.

Top marks!

Had it 3 weeks and it does what it says on the tin, 16gb storage, high speed data transfer and dirt-cheap

The loops are good for attaching a cord (not supplied) so it is always attached to my laptop bag for easy access ...the cap stays in place with a very firm click

So far, 5 stars

I downloaded my mp3 library to this and play them via the USB plug under the arm rest in my car.
Works very well on long journeys with the car music system.
Ordered two and both are great.
Most impressed with the item and find it far better than loading CDs.
Memory sticks rock, and are useful with a load of gadgets.
The problem is keeping track of them all when they are required.

Unlike other pen drives it has a sturdy loop for fastening it to your keys. Will not break like many ive had in the past. Also top is firmly secure so will not be lost. Good product, have already bought another of a diffrent colour.

Product arrived much much earlier than expected - especially with the delivery delays over the xmas period..
The drive itself is very reliable - granted I've only been using it for a couple of months now - but the speeds are up there with some very top quality/expensive flash drives.. Definitely recommended! Quality for a great price.
