Fab product, very simply makes your red wine taste smoother straight after opening the bottle as if its been breathing for an hour. Comes with a rubber stand, a filter and a carry pouch. Bought the Vinturi version for my brother earlier this year so was very surprised when the magic wine aerator turned out to be identicle in every way apart from the price. Still get a kick out of doing the taste test with every bottle opened to see how better the wine tastes with the aerator.(not what i thought the highlight of my evenings would be after hitting forty but there you go). So to clarify, a must product for every middle aged wino i mean wine connoisseur.

I first came across this on Amazon when I was reading about the Vinturi equivalent. I studied the pictures of this version carefully and realised it is actually the same piece of kit as the Vinturi version but much less expensive and without the Vinturi name on. Who cares about a brand if the product is identical and costs less. So I ordered this one and couldn't wait to give it a go. When it arrived I immediately did the taste test of comparing a freshly poured glass of non decanted aerated red to a glass of decanted aerated red, (both poured from the same newly opened bottle of Hardys Shiraz). The improved difference in taste was definitely there - most impressive. Also it makes an amusing 'gurgling' type sound during use, similar to the lasts of the bath water going down the plug hole. I have given it 4 stars as its good, definitely worth getting if you're regular red wine drinker, (or in my case probably too regular), but not a mirical worker where it turns it into one of the finest wines on the planet. It simply aerates it to give it a more pleasant taste and flavour saving breathing time. I highly recommend it.

If you believe that red wine (generally) benefits from being allowed to breathe then you will love this gadget. There is no doubt whatsoever that it works as intended. Looks and sounds great and is guaranteed to impress your alcoholic friends. My original review stated this product is identical in every way (except branding) to the more expensive Vinturi version. I own the latter and bought the cheaper one as a gift for a fellow wino. Now the style of the "Magical Aerator" seems to have changed which makes comparison difficult. From the look I'd suggest the new version deviates in style, not substance from the Vinturi. Both leak a little from the air holes so if the rubber grip on the new version is above the leak that could be seen as a positive design evolution. So, strictly speaking, I don't own the product featured in it's current form but think I'd still be happy to recommend.

this is the thirdmagical wine aerator/decanterone I have purchased, first one for my husband and the subsequent ones as gifts for friends.I keep mine near my wine bottle and pour my wine through it; in effect you are decanting your wine glass by glass rather than having to decant a whole bottle. Have done a "blind" tasting I am convinced the wine tastes better.

I did not expect it to work, BUT it does. It was fun trying it in different wines, but each one was considerably improved.

This decanter was a present for my daughter. She was supprised that it actually did work she loved it and its quick and easy to use.

Great product,does the job nicely and the mesh sieve makes it easy to ensure that nothing gets through when you decant your wines.

After using a similar product at a party we ordered our own and think this item is wonderful. I don't know how one brand varies from another as they all seem to do more or less the same thing, but we are very pleased with this one. If you are considering buying this as a gift, ours arrived in a nice box, so looks good and easy to wrap. (That last one is for the ladies!!)
