Reason for buying:
I decided to buy this product because I wanted a healthy form of a plant protein powder that had no dairy or toxins in it (artificial chemicals, colourings, preservatives & additives etc).

Mixing / Taste:
When I filled up 1/3 of the pint glass with water and added 30g of protein to it (2 tablespoons) I mixed it slowly with a large spoon and found that it mixed quite well. It had a very unique taste in that it tasted like cold creamy pea soup. It actually tasted much nicer than I expected = 9.5/10 for taste.

Health benefits:
After taking the product once a day until the bag finished I felt a lot healthier, I lost weight and found that my stomach bloating problem had improved. Strangely enough though after drinking it I felt that I had eaten something that my body really wanted and hadn't had before.

Value / Comparison vs other Pea products:
At £13.45/Kg with free postage, this product offers very good value for money considering it's healthy ingredients and health benefits.

There are also a number of other Pea protein powders available on Amazon which I have tried, however in my experience they are either made of less desirable ingredients such as "Bulk Powders 1kg Pea Protein" for £7.20/Kg or they are far too expensive such as the "Sunwarrior Blend Raw Plant-Based Complete Protein Vanilla Powder 1Kg" for £31.98/Kg (although the Sunwarrior brand is the highest quality that money can buy and is likely to be far more beneficial health-wise, however it falls outside most peoples budgets (such as myself).

Negatives:
The only downside with this product is that it is not a complete protein source (does not contain the correct amino acid profile in the correct proportions). Pulsins Rice protein also has the same problem, however if both are taken together (15g of Rice Powder + 15g of Pea powder) they complement each other and are a complete protein source in the correct amino acid proportions.

In addition to Pulsins Pea and Rice Protein, I also take Pulsins Soya and Hemp proteins because they all taste differently and it's a good idea to have varied choice which not only prevents you from getting bored of the same product but provides you with different amino acids in different proportions. I have written a separate review for each of these products and I will summarise the most important information on all 4 so that you can compare and contrast:

(As of 25/08/14)
(This table will be left aligned due to Amazons formatting system)

Protein / Taste / Complete / Price / Protein %

Pea / 9.5/10 / No / £13.45 / 80.4%
Rice / 10/10 / No / £19.95 / 80.0%
Soya / 4.5/10 / Yes / £13.75 / 90.0%.
Hemp / 5/10 / Yes / £19.09 / 47.0%

Verdict: Highly Recommended

I'm almost through the first kilo bag already and I've found a very enjoyable way to consume it: mix two desert spoons of pulsing with half a regular bowl of muesli, add about 1/4 pint of almond milk, one sliced banana, and a handful of blueberries and use a hand blender and hey presto... delicious protein-rich breakfast smoothie.

I was recommended this brand as an easy way to get protein into my diet. I was also drawn to it because its was described as "tasteless" in many of the reviews. Well after putting 1tsp in a 600ml fruit and veg smoothie I can definitely taste it. It's not an over powering taste but it has a definite blandness which takes away from the taste of the fruit and veggies in my smoothie. I will say in its defence that it does mix easily into the smoothie. However I'm not to be put off by the taste, in future I will only add it to smoothies where I use ingredients like ginger, as that will help to mask the taste of the powder. I'll probably use it most by adding it to savoury products like soups and stews where its less likely to be detected when eating it. Can't comment on the health benefits just yet as I have only just started using it.

I used this for quite a while and really liked the taste - savoury yet sweet. It actually tasted "wholesome" (unusual for a protein powder) and it was very good value. Then the product was changed (autumn 2013) and tasted awful - processed and cardboard-like. The only plus was that it mixed more easily with fewer lumps. Pulsin' had switched suppliers. It was still 100% pure non-GM pea protein, extracted without chemicals and free from additives. But the horrible taste made me switch to other brands (best of which was the Nutrisport vegan unflavoured but that one now also contains soya).
UPDATE (July 2014) Pulsin' got their original supplier back. Tastes a lot better, though the old problem with lumps has returned! Blend-ability best using cold liquids. UPDATE (May 2015) Taste and quality have remained consistent so I guess they're sticking with the same suppliers! Still the best on the market for my money.

Bought this to try different plant proteins in shakes. Flavour is good when mixed with other stuff like coco powder or other proteins. Tried hemp protein which is really good for you but tastes a bit like mud. This is much softer. Good in soups and pastas too

item as described and posted promptly.
I cannot comment on the product itself as I have only just started using it, though I am glad this review reminder popped up in my inbox.
when I received the product I was aghast at the calorie content. 350 calories per serving!
writing this review caused me to double check my facts.
to my extreme relief it is 350 calories per 100 grams.
a heaped desert spoon is 10 grams and they recommend 1 to 3 spoonsful daily.
8 grams of protein per spoonful.
take the 3 spoons daily and for 105 calories you are getting 24 grams of protein.
I take the lot in one go in a glass of water.
not a pleasant taste, but nor is it unpleasant.
it certainly doesn't leave you retching like some concoctions I have used.
if you cant drink it spread it over your food.

Great product, good value. Tried other (natural) protein shakes but think this is the best one. Mixes easily, has no taste (which I like) and you get about 17g of protein from one serving. Easily digested and about 2g of carbs. If, like me, you have candida (yeast infection) and are a veggie, you will love this product to get your daily protein intake.

One of the worst protein powders I've ever tasted. And it thickens up ridiculously even if you use loads of water. I wouldn't purchase again, and I'm trying to give away what I currently have.

It is difficult to find a good quality protein powder when you are a vegan, but this fits the bill just perfectly.

The product arrived promptly and well packaged, and I have noticed big energy gains when using the product. I also find that I recover much quicker when I use this product after a workout, compared to my normal recovery nutrition which usually only contains a smaller amount of hemp protein.

A better alternative to whey protein, in my opinion. Why? Well, I was looking for a protein powder to add to my smoothies and whey protein was recommended but all the whey protein powders on sale at either Holland & Barrett, or health foodstores have too many 'other' ingredients that I don't particularly care for. I wanted a pure protein powder. I first discovered the Pea Protein powder at Holland & Barrett but for the quantity and price it was way too expensive. I searched on Amazon and found the same brand selling at a much cheaper price and with more quantity. This protein powder is 100% pure pea protein and perfect for my use. I add a tablespoon to my smoothies and love it. It's a great way to get some good and healthy protein into my body. Love it and highly recommend.
